TKOS'd pilots not sent away
Becoming TKOS at a station you are homed at, does not get you sent away when you die. Tested at Tunguska in Edras and Axia in Verasi.
Replicate:
Home at a station that isn't Corvus.
Fire on a guard from outside the NFZ.
Player will receive a warning that the guard is under protection, guards will attack but upon player death the player's home station is not changed. This will likely trap some unskilled players permanently at a station in a faction loss spiral there.

Can you expand on this? Are you stating that you fired from outside of the nfz into it, or you just shot guard outside of the nfz(and thus you didn't violate the nfz)?
