serious graphics issues.
When starting vendetta, all I see is a black screen with white box's, which is replaced after a few moments with a white sceeen with grey and green box's, with the background music playing.
I'm guessing that this is a problem with My graphics settings, but if I cant read the menues, I dont know how to fix it...
system is a T-bird 1Ghz, 512MB Ram, GF2MX400 w/64MBDDR, DX 9, latest drivers that Nvidia has on their site...
(and yes, I submitted the bug report)
help?

There's your problem. Best drivers for the GF2 line is the 44.03 set.
Newer nVidia drivers totally destroy older cards for some reason.

Maybe on Windows. But the 5xx series is highly reccommended for Linux.
*sigh* runs fine under linux, so I manually edit'd the windoze copy to use open GL, and wham, it works...
A fix for D3d would be nice, tho...

There's something wrong with your drivers or something because from your submitted bug report I see that Vendetta failed to validate any textured polygon rendering.
I don't understand why the drivers don't think your card can do textured polygon rendering. I've seen it only once before and they fixed that by updating their video card drivers.

or downgrading them...
Ray:: I'll check My drivers tonight, and let you know what I find out. I suspect that you're right, in that it's a problem with the drivers..
As a suggestion, you might consider having it change render modes, and allerting the user, if it is unable to initialize it's prefered render mode. this would at least allow the player to get into the game, rather than giving up in disgust....

Heh well it does do that already, in a way.
Vendetta tries opengl if directx can't initialize.
I could check to see if it can render stuff but I assumed that there wouldn't be any problems rendering single textured polygons.

Ray, as far as I am able to tell, it never switched to GL, untill I manually edit'd the INI file. it renders just fine in GL mode, DirectX wont render anything. I have no problems in DirectX with any other games.
tested it with four versions of the nvidia drivers (38.43, 40.71, 41.09, and 56.64) tried DX 9.0, 9.0b, and 8.1b.
I remember it working in the past, when I had 8.1A, but it does NOT work for Me with any combination of the above drivers. I'm guessing that this is either a peculiarity unique to My video card, or it is an issue with DirectX and the the Nvidia drivers...
Given the # of people who play the test, I'd bet on it being specific to My card...
