Gauss/Frigate bug
I have not tried this with other weapons so bear with me on the name.
Upon entering and finding 16 empty and the Frigate undisturbed, I shoot the front/top turret with gauss canons from 470m away and....nothing. No sounds, no damage, nothing.
The only way to get my gauss hits to record is to shoot a couple of Geminis at the turret. They record damage and sound. After that, my gauss hits will also record damage and sounds.
bug report filed along with errors.log file to Ray.

I'm sending a second errors.log file to you Ray.

470? What is the range of gauss?
Around 600m
Thx, Xorbital...slightly less. 600m will not get you a hit but 550m will.
RelayeR this happens with me a lot so i just shoot the frig once first then i shoot the turrets
A bug is a bug zoid. If the Devs say it is not important, I'll move on.
When the gauss doesn't work, were you shooting the frigate in the same place each time?
I believe the turrets are invulnerable until the frigate first takes damage.
If that's the case, then this is not a bug. Thanks, Eldrad.
Hmm, if that's the case, then that's a bug. The turrets should be able to take damage exclusive of the frigate itself taking damage. I'll check it out.
I usually start on the front turrets, Ray. No matter what I do, the initial gauss hits on a turret do not register.
Ya I double checked it. The Turrets don't take damage until the frigate has received some.
Sorry to have to bump this Ray but now, initial gauss canon hits on the frigate are not registering.
missles do the job on the turrets, but then, blast damage would damage the maim body at the same time, dont they?
Yes
