Crashes

There've been tons of random crashes today. My client crashed twice with no provocation. On verbose 9, I saw dropped sequences all over. Entering sector 12 was an interesting experience. I was listening to some MP3's on RealPlayer, and I got no skips at all. Then I entered sector 12 and EXACTLY AS thousands of errors scrolled by, my mp3 skipped. Coincidence? I think not. But it takes a lot to disturb a mp3 player with an Athlon XP 2800+ and a gig of RAM. A hell of a lot. I got some other errors too. For example, I got the "Black Station Screen of Death" error, where I docked and saw a black screen. Verbose reported gamevent types 32, 33 and 49 repeating when that happened. Just... strange. And it says I'm still logged in. :P

Anybody?

PS: It did log me out when I logged back in. Until that point, I was invincible! w00t.

that sounds... amazing rogue. I've never had that problem, despite the fact that the other bugs seem to hunt me

i keep getting segfaults under Linux on my main char, when it finishes loading. none of my other chars have had this problem, and i just logged on on my dads XP box to move randomblast from S9 to S5. i'm going to see if that fixed the problem in a while.

EDIT: same problem as here

"Access Violation" *rolls eyes* why can't they call it a Segmentation Fault like everyone else...

... cause maybe it's an access violation and not a seg fault. Like maybe instead of filling up the stack you're trying to access restricted memory.

Hmm... interesting; on my linux box Vendetta is also running kind of.. crap. Well at least worse than the UT 2004 demo. I have made it a bit better now by removing lot's of stuff, etc, etc. But currently Vendetta almost always hangs in the menu for a while; and when I quit my PC locks up. I'm still looking tough wether or not it is just some fuzzy irq problem or something because UT2004 also locks up after a while.

Starfisher: a segfault is where a program tries to read from or write to memory it isn't allocated.
a bit like an "access violation".
infact, exactly the same as an access violation.
hmm...
