broke "higher" level trading
Well, This is sorta annoying. Yesterday I botted myself broke (I spent around 400k on license tests + rockets ) and found myself down at 12k cash.
then I got a trade mission to buy 10 units of high yield xith' widgets. naturally I declined and tried to get another mission.
Except for the basic metal-gathering, there aoppears to be a shortage of low-cost missions for players, especially with neutral/dislike standings... Can this perhaps be amended?

Just go trading independently for a while. For a profit. Meaning, remember that you can still trade for your own monetary profit outside of missions.
I know, and you can still push cargo and scavenge, I just wanted to note the buglet that as missions go higher they become more unbalanced towards the point:
spend money for us and we'll repay you a bit higher.

well spider, that kinda makes sense. A higher level player need more difficult missions. (what level do you consider "high" trade btw?) i'm level 10 (soo close to 11) and i mostly get 'fly to the other side of the known universe and bring us back lots of wigits' missions. i havent had a mission to "next door" in 3 trade levels. And i dont often get misions to buy cargo and be reimbursed anymore. Perhaps if you went to a different sector for the start of the mission. I've noticed that my reputation to the sector helps to determine what kind of missions i'm given. With a very good rep i get more difficult missions. lower rep they give me less important missions.
Next door? Try getting a trade mission in 1, 2 or 3. Much easier to get one like that.
If you fail or abort a mission where you've been given some cargo to deliver, the Powers That Be will be a little bit wary of giving you any more cargo until you've proven yourself worthy. (in other words, complete two or three of the "buy cargo with your own money" or "scavenge widgets" missions, and you'll get the full mission list again.)
ahh. that may well be it, Vlad.
Spellcast: Not up to your level, certainly ;)
The problem wasn't as much the difficulty, as much as the unbalanced feeling of the missions, and it took me a deal of searching (undock dock, warp dock..) to get the scavenge missions.
