Exited warp right next to Asteroid

Camera went screwy, was clueless what was going on, cleared up, saw my fading warp jump effects RIGHT next to a big fat asteroid...

bug?

Same thing happened to me twice, at the same exact point. I think one of the neutral sectors has an entry point right above a huge asteroid. Forgot which. Did you happen to note which system and sector it happened in?

Also, one of the Neutral Star sectors warps you right next to the station. Not sure if that was intentional, since we're supposed to be away from large objects during warp drive etc.

I exitted warp with an asteroid at my six once. After the warp effects I was almost touching the asteroid, so I think I started inside the roid...

When you warp in, your position in the sector is determined by the sector you came from. (So if you went to the middle of the system from the top-left corner, you'll be in the top-left corner of the system.)

If you encounter this in the future, please take note of the sector where you were placed near the asteroid, as well as the sector you just warped from.

That's a neat way of doing things. I didn't think the spawn locations were random.

So there are about 250 spawn locations in any given sector, plus or minus a few depending on the number and size of stars in the system?

Quite a few less, actually, though I'm not going to do the math. Every sector to the right of your destination will produce the same incoming trajectory, as will every sector above, to the left of, and below. Any sectors that lie on the same diagonal will also give the same trajectory (that's where you'd have to use discrete mathematics, or spend 10 minutes counting, to figure out how many sectors exactly align to the same diagonal.)

from Dau(19) C3 to D9 according to the display I entered the sector only about 40m from a large rock

Jumping from Odia C-2 (Mining) to Odia M-14 (Stronghold) will occasionally make you bump the asteroid in the jump. Had it happen to me twice.

To quote a very nice guy: "Who said testing wasn't exciting?"

I think it was Latos I-7 to Latos ... N-3? (station up right)

Ended up bouncing against the asteroid before the end of the warp animation :)
