guardian bots don't shoot back

Is this supposed to be like that? They seem to act like Infiltrators now.

Guardian bots do not shoot back (as far as I know) in Itani training sectors.

Yeah I noticed this also (before the update). They actually shoot back in sectors where they're the majority, but in ones where there's only one guardian they don't.

oh ok then it's probably no bug ...
It's just kind of odd because they were so evil in 3.5 :)

mr_spuck: if you damage the guardian, it'll attack you no matter what.

(yea... when the awesome new AI rolled in, I was getting worried that the bots might fly a lot better than I do. they do fly incredibly well against energy, in such a manner that throws autoaim off a little... but they can't sense ammo, and turning autoaim off actually increases the chance that your energy shots will land--besides, the bots can be manipulated because they pretty much strive to fly in sync with you)

btw: if you kill a guardian, all the other guardians of that nation will attack you the next time you meet. heh

They don't really dodge in the sense humans do. They just cheat the autoaim by moving at the last second in a direction that screws it up. Turn autoaim off and watch how easy it is to waste 'em. The same goes for guided missiles, although I'd still like to know how they manage to make my Geminis come back at me. I got a feeling the devs are witholding information from us, such as ECM equipped bots. Missiles inexplicably lose course or have a neat boomerang effect when the bots haven't even changed velocity.

Yeah, it's fun to shoot at bots with autoaim off. n00bs are amazed that you do a barrel roll and every one of your shots hits the guardian dead center...
