how do you warp? i played this game when the warps were represented by good old circles now i can't see how. i know i have to be 3000m away from a large object but then what?

head 3000m out
hit n
select whichever box you want
hit jump
BAM new sector :D

As described above for intrasystem travel, but if you want to move to a new system, you must warp to a sector (using the instructions above) that has a wormhole, and then you can find the wormhole there just like we used to prior to 3.5.*
