When you've got ships in another sector, in your inventory they appear under a heading which shows where they are. When you click on those headings (i.e. "Dau L10") their description is "Storage Container." This is very non-important, but it's just one more thing you may want to fix up before release.

That's actually intended. Your stuff is stored in a storage container at that station.
