Talking to Mission Computer in space

Jul 24, 2004 Mariner link
Am I missing something here? In space the 'Mission' tab has no text input. But I can communicate with it in 'General' (/mission hi) and then switch over for the response.

The mission tab seems to be the console, if i hit my console key the text disapears. Pressing it again brings the text back. Its very confusing.

Actually, this is how you chat to the mission.
Activate the mission tab through whatever means you currently use. and then use your /say command which is default to 't'.
The /say command is contextual based on what tab you have selected.

Thanks, I thought it might just be me. It's all so very DOS like. We poor fuzzy headed Mac users are at a disadvantage.

Does this mean the future is all command line interface? >|

I am sure that I represent all UNIX-users in being offended at your presumption to assume that DOS is the epiphany of command-line interfaces. It isn't.

PS: Apple made a DOS too, you know...

Command line interfaces are simpler to design and implement in a short period of time. We'd like to GUI-ize a lot of things, but haven't time for the design and implementation as of yet.

I did have tongue in cheek, it has to work before you make it pretty and easy.
