OK so I end up in an ion storm, and head for the exit point. For some reason I open up the nav screen and close it again without making any adjustments. I hit the exit point, wait for batteries to recharge and hit ENTER.

Nothing happens. As far as the nav system goes it seems to think I have reached my destination and activating the storm exit point will not work.

Only solution is to select a new destination and jump there. Some testing seems to indicate that this only happens if you open the nav computer while inside a storm. Not sure if there are other circumstances that might trigger this.

Maybe your target sector *was* a storm sector.. ? A few times on combat missions, I've landed in my destination sector only to find it was storming, but it wasn't a big deal since the bots I was after were there.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the nav computer thought you were at the destination because you actually were at your destination.

yes, everytime i enter a sector i check the nav map because as you said thginkrej, the sector that you want to go to might be storming. I have had that happen at many a occasion and when i check the nav map it says i am where i am wanted to go,(if ur in a storm and u check the nav map it says what sector you and the storm are in, and now with the new plotting will have a line to your destination if you have not reached it already). Also on a side note, you do not have to wait for your batteries to recharge when u want to warp out of a storm sector, it is just like doing a normal sector to sector jump, only with the system jumps u need full batteries.

Aaah damn, learn something new every day! Sorry 'bout that, was under the impression that Storms were sortof "between" sectors, like the hyperspace misjumps in Frontier/FFE.

Here's a tip for everyone...when you select a sector to jump to, remember it. The first thing to appear when you jump (after the exit jump animation) is a message in chat that says you "are entering [system][sector]". If it doesn't match your destination, you have hit a storm.

Another clue, if you have a known empty sector as a destination, is a loading bar. If you get one, you have hit a storm.

Or the helpful message "You have hit a storm" in the mission tab... or the glowing blue stuff...

um.. i suppose star... *blink-blink*, i think the point was to figure out if the "you have hit a storm" sector is the one they wanted to be in or not....
