bus death + rebuy bus = free "free battery"

Sep 27, 2004 mr_spuck link
If I die in a bus and rebuy the same ship. The kind of battery I previously had gets put into the station hold and the new bus comes equipped with a free battery. So with every death I get a free battery.

Yes, all free ships come with a free battery no matter what.

I think he's saying you get the free one in your ship PLUS an extra one in your cargo hold. So two batteries when you re-"buy" a free ship.

That's what I meant.

For example if I die in a stock bus with a fast charge battery and click on "Yes" in the "Buy back last ship" screen. I end up with a stock bus and a fast charge battery in the station hold.

You get a free fast-charge battery or a free free battery?

yes, i understand. Buying an item does not replace it on your ship. The free battery stays on your ship and the non-free battery can't fit so it gets placed in storage.

How many people are flying a stock bus with a fsst-charge battery?

Well, it's nice for cows whose favorite pastures are several sectors apart.

Uh...a bus with a f/c battery is not a stock bus.
You were charged for the f/c batt so all you got was a free free battery.

Like Ray said.

RelayeR, you're being obtuse. He is using the base bus model EC-88 which has been modified with a fast charge battery and you know it. :-Ž

It used to be that if you modified the bus and died, when you clicked the Buy Back Ship option, the upgrade parts would be installed on your ship and the "free" items would be deposited in the station.

relayer: you're picky :P

With the non-free battery it's just more obvious what exactly happens.

And my railbus™ can reach its fate (certain death) faster with the fc. :P
