linux falls out of the game
Now that Ive updated to 1.07 it just quits at the splash screen. I start the game and all goes well until I come to the loading splash screen with the planet and it falls out of the game leaving my screen at a different resolution. Heres a list of events,
1. start game: good
2. goes through updater: good
3. Log in: good
4. pick character: good
5. click play and it goes to the splash screen with the orange planet and dies: bad
Im still having problems with it wanting to download a 109 meg update also.
I think it might have something to with my video card cause someone else with posted a problem with 1.07 and an nvidia card, but thats just my guess. For now Im locked out of the gates of greatness due to this "bug" I guess you would say.
Libranet 2.8.1
amd 1700+
nVidia 64 mg card
2.4.x kernel

P.S. Still a great game even if I cant play it at the moment.

Any clues at all? Maybe it will just start up one day and act like nothing happened....I wish.

There's still a problem with some people crashing after picking their characters and after it loads.
Do you have sound/music until it crashes?

The same thing happened to me in Windows XP for like a day and the next day it worked. Try waiting a day and see if that fixes it.
We'll release a patch for this tonight.
Same problem here. I don't have a working soundcard in that machine. Maybe thats part of the problem.
A soundcard is part of the system req's. You should at least meet them before posting a failure like this one...
(Sorry, this got pushed back as we had a long meeting tonight. Tomorrow it is, then.)
