Vendetta just stopped working.

Every time I start vendetta, and enter my password, and then select my ship, it immediately crashes. Should I reinstall?

Same thing here

Libranet 1.8.1
Nvidia something 64 meg card
linux 2.4.x

Windows XP Home
Nvidia Geforce FX5200

It worked perfectly up until the new patch, no lag no nothing.

EDIT: It just let me in, maybe it was temporary?

It looks like a bug in the sound code for the ship engines... Sometimes it'll work, sometimes not. We'll patch it tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, try to get to a station before you log out; this way it won't try to make engine sounds when you first log in. (I think this is what's causing it -- I could be wrong...)

Yeah, I messed up the sound again.
Other people's ship engine sounds crash you if you don't have a working sound card.

Its not working again, is there anything I can do in order to at least get on? I went afk to eat dinner last time I was playing and came back to a "The server disconnected you" or something of that nature. It wont even let me get on :(

EDIT: Tried about 20 times in a row. The active players list says im on, but I crashed while loading.

EDIT EDIT: Just got word of maybe a patch to fix this tonight. Feel free to ignore me until then :) I have homework to do anyways >_o

Yeah, it's coming tomorrow. Sorry about that.

In your particular case, it looks like something is using your sound device and preventing Vendetta from gaining access to it. Is there a MP3 player or.. anything using sound running in the background? Most sound drivers are perfectly capable of playing sound from multiple programs at the same time.. Perhaps you can update your drivers or something?
