scanner
Probably already posted but when i fire the scanner, from the outside view I see the beams scanning roids, but from inside I see nothing.
Yeah, that's known.
BTW, the animation is 1337.
Screenshots? I have most effects set to minimum/disabled. So I probably won't see much.
hehe .. cute :)
Hmm... Prehaps the problem lies in the scanning beam being only rendered on one side, the 'outside'. Very often, if you can somehow get a game camera stuck in an object it'll stop showing the walls of the object. Or, prehaps it IS being displayed, but since it's rendered as planes coming directly from the ship the interior veiwpoint has you looking directly along those planes. They're there, but so thin as to never 'appear' wide enough for any pixles to be devoted to displaying them.
No, the code is written such that it only renders the scanner if you're in an outside view. This isn't a full feature yet, since you can't see other people scanning, it was just something Ray was playing with.
wow that is cool!
I had never tried scanning in 3rd person so I didn't even know it was there. :D

Now you just need to add a particle generator and some pixel shaders... :D
Nah nothing that fancy.
Note: I still haven't seen it ingame.
A little less opaque, maybe a cloud texture and a smooth fadeout where it doesn't hit anything might look neat. :)
