Advanced Combat: Rewards and Difficulties

Oct 19, 2004 Spider link
Lessee if I get this right:

When you take an advanced combat mission, you get a list of bots, from <low skill / easy bots> to < high skill / hard bots>

Where the easier bots give even less than half of the rewards that the harder bots give. Thats cool.

However, Why is it that if I kill a set DenTek assaults, I get +600 Light/Heavy weapons, for -each- and a +1250 Combat bonus for them all.

But if I kill an A-3 squad, I get +210 Light/heavy for each, but +1350 for the squad?

Its just not worth it to take out the A-3's in comparsion. They are slightly more sturdy, a touch more annoying (Gravs instead of Tach's ) but just. Not worth it.

Of course, they give a bit more challenge. So?

Well, Spider.......did you get it right?

Not sure, I'm not at home (ran out of time for bugreporting before I had to head to work) so I can't verify that I got the exact scores right. I did a consistency test earlier between squads of various bots to compare the difficulty (percieved) and rewards in various levels.

Feel free to correct me. :)

Btw. Was it the Prous (spelling?) assaults that give +800 ? And can't the higher level missions (8-9 level combat) contain a few harder bots as well? ;)

yes, you got it right.

As to why you would kill the a3's instead, umm because light weapons XP is so much easier to get than combat XP. the extra 100 combat XP is worth more than the difference in Light weapons XP.

Actually not, I can hold a higher tempo on the DenTek Assaults, they are easier and approach faster, and die faster. :)
