sound issues..
Hey all, I recently started the trial version and am enjoying it except for one minor problem:
After about 10 minutes of play, my game sounds(and music) start to skip and then completely cuts out. It isn't too bad because I can just alt-tab and return to the game and it would be fine for another 10 min or so. Of course, if I was in the middle of a fight or something, it wouldn't be a good thing to do. I've played EVE before and all the sounds and music worked fine on that game.
Any ideas on fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hardware platform? OS? Sound Card? Drivers updated recently?
Details are nice. :)

Ah right... sorry sorry forgot about all that stuff :P
Well I'm running on Windows XP with about a 2 month old computer... it's been very reliable. I have a "Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit" sound card (just got it before getting the vendetta trial, I used my onboard motherboard sound before that). I just checked their website to see if my drivers needed updating... but I already had the most recent one.
My speakers have never posed a problem before so I doubt it's them.
Who knows... maybe all I need to do is re-install. But I really would prefer not to go through that as it would mean I would have to download it over again and since I'm on dial-up.... well :-/
Anyway... if there's any information any of you guys can use that can help me with this, I'll be glad to give it to you. Thanks :)

There is a rare occurance that it is the new drivers causing the problem... perhaps reverting to the previous driver-set would solve it?
...of course, I don't know my PC stuff as well as some of the other people here do...

Try turning off all sound hardware acceleration in the DirectX Control Panel.
Otherwise, try adding these lines to your config.ini file.
[wavsound]
use_wavsound=1
If that doesn't help, try changing the 1 to a 0.

Darn, I had sound problems from the get go (since Alpha) on my XP machine with a SB Audigy Platinum Edition. Everything else worked fine and I ended up playing the game muted. Got used to it ;-)
However, the above setting did the trick. Smooth music and nice sound effects.
Doohhh, should have asked earlier :=)

Ok, thanks. I'll keep this noted that it fixed your problem.
