Unable to connect from network

Mar 28, 2003 Ewald link
I am behind a firewalled network.
Is there a chance that Vendetta allows me to use another Port or can I change it somehow(Linux: iptable)?
Other Online Games work very well with none default UDP-Ports.
For example can I use Port 27015?
Would be more pleasant for some Users, who don't want to visit a Network meeting to invoke(with a lot of beer donations) the networkadmins to open this port.

ps.: do I only need the UDP-Port 21141 to play Vendetta(install worked+update) or are there other Ports too(incoming Ports and outcoming Ports)?

Thanks
Ewald

Sorry mistake!
I wanted to ask for the Incomming and Outgoing UDP Ports!
Outgoing is 21141 as i read in the FAQ. But I think to establish a connection there are 2 Ports needed. I can be wrong!

Are you saying Vendetta doesn't work behind your firewall?

All connections from the client are outgoing connections. Most NAT/firewall setups shouldn't need any modification, because they keep track of what connections the clients behind the firewall are making (i.e. stateful packet filtering).

The ports are tcp/21024 for the updater and udp/21141 for the game. The udp port on your client side will be assigned by the operating system (so it could be anything from 1024-65535), and the server will respond to the same port it received the udp packet from.

This is in contrast to Quake, for instance, where the client's udp port is statically assigned and requires special handling at the firewall if you are using NAT.

Hi Everyone!

I would like to install Vendetta, but I can not download the necessary files, because I can not set the proxy settigs during the download. It is the first time I install it.
Can anyone suggest me a solution. Proxy needs autorisations (name/pwd).

Thanks
