i checked it out and in the ship selection the listings of what kind of weapons they can have aren't correct.
example:

Light Ship
Speed: High
Manuverability: High
Armor: Light
Weapons:
Lasers (Initial weapon) (Upgradable to level 2)<----*
Ion Cannons (Upgradable to level 2)<----*
Rockets (Capacity: 16)
Homing Missiles (Capacity: 12)

I agree! I'd much rather have the up-to-date manual now. In fact, perhaps they should cancel 3.2 so that the rules won't change and the manual will be accurate and pristine forever. Now THAT's fun.
