1. Make some way to show people when you're chatting. I lost a valk today to an overzealous Serco who didn't realize I was chatting.

2. BAN ICARUS! I think everyone is in agreement the guy is a cheater. He sits in a station dock waiting with nukes... He jumps out, fires, jumps in. No damage.... Kills everyone around him. That's all for now.

I second #2.

Uh i wasn't asking whether people liked him or not. I'm asking if people agree that what I described is cheating.

I third number 3 but the user agreement does not give guild the right to ban him.

Guild has the 'right' to do anything they damn well please, so long as we're not paying a cent. If it comes to the point that any player's actions do more harm to the test than good, that person will probably be dealt with.

3. TERMINATION

This LICENSE will automatically terminate if Customer fails to comply with any of the terms and conditions hereof. In such event, Customer must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE and all of its component parts.

The terms don't state "The user may not cheat \ exploit or whatever"

Oh and icarus;
Congratulations you made it!
You made it all the way
You reached the skys and you didn't die!
For you have reached your dream!
You have exploited your way!
We all hope you will fry!
But you have reached your dreams.
But we wish you will crash and die!!

*Sniff*
What a beutiful song!
Oh and his dream was to be in the top ten! Hence he exploited his way.

In a way, he's helping the test. By finding more and more ways to exploit, it helps the Dev's correct these issues before the final release. Well done, Icarus!
Besides, we all like the guy, except the people who can't accept dying once in a while. It IS a space combat game, after all. What's the point of playing if you're just going to trade and amass a gigantic fortune, then never use it? Well, you could say "I'm going to spend it later, I just want to make money first!". In that case, Icarus is doing what we like to call a "pre-emptive strike".

Ehem, dieing once:
Being killed while attempting to dock
Being killed while attempting to dock
Being killed while attempting to dock
Being killed while attempting to dock
Being killed while attempting to dock

Um, yah that is dieing once.

No no icarus is what we call "Using a fault in the game that gives the / a player an unfair advantage against other players" I call it a fault, it may be there intentionally but if it is then the devs are going to be yelled at if we find out it is, we have complained several times about the 'fault'.

Yah I really don't think Icarus is really a likeable person... but as far as banning goes, I don't think he should be. People shouldn't get banned just because they're a mother @#$%ng @#$%wad @#$%@#% up the @#$%@#$. I guess in the end its up to Guild, but I agree with MrMellow in that he's helping to test the game and in a sick demented way, show that exploiting is something that needs to be fixed. Oh, and JOIN THE SYNDICATE

What's wrong with Icarus? Yes he's a pirate, but I've had troubles with MUCH more annoying pirates. He is just another player, he is very suceptible to nukes (trust me on this one lol) and he makes good conversation. That does it for me...

I have nothing against except his exploiting.

Icarus is not so bad that he needs banned. I agree with MrYellow on this. he is helping by finding ways to use the game against itself.

The only time Icarus becomes a real problem is when you are homed in the station he is currently using for his kill zone. other than that you have the option of just avoiding him, which is what i usually try to do.. unless i need practice dogfighting.. then i try to catch him away from teh station so i get a fair fight..

I for one not only like Icarus but think he is extremely valuable for the Vendetta test. I'm very happy to have him aboard.

Alot of people seem to forget that are primary purpose is not to have fun. Or primary purpose is to help the good people at Guildsoftware make money, and we do that by helping them make the very best game they can. If Icarus is ruining your fun, then well tough. I'm the sort of person that just doesn't think up all these devious exploits because it simply doesn't occur to me to try anything so low down and dirty in a game. Without players like Icarus willing to break the gameplay in any way they can, the first time you find out that the only way to thrive in the game environment is cheat is when you release the game. You think Icarus is bad? Alot of these l33tboi's make him look like a saint, and there wouldn't be just one of them - there would be thousands.

Moreoever, if you are 'chatting' while in space, then you are IC and if you get blown up that is your fault. You have no right to conversation while in space. Sorry, but Vendetta is not a chat room. And if you get blown up while having IC conversation, then well in the real world bullets don't care if you are otherwise occupied.

If he would actually get out of the station more, I'd respect him as a REAL pirate. Because he's leveling the playing field by putting his own life at risk, as every player should do. It's the honorable way of playing the game. But as it is now, he REPEATEDLY takes advantage of the exploits in the game. Because of this, I truly believe he has some real intention of pissing people off. He's not there to play. He's there to make new and veteran players' gaming experience miserable. Finding exploits is one thing. USING the exploits REPEATEDLY is another. I for one wouldn't miss him if he were to get banned.

UPDATE: It looks like the devs will be taking out invulnerability in favor of defense ships that will fire at anyone (hopefully with a powerful weapon) who fires near the station. Excellent idea. Say goodbye to your exploits, Icarus.
