More detailed "In Progress" website section

I see quite a bit of redundancy with suggestions. A lot of people, if they knew something was in the works, wouldn't post an otherwise useless thread. Sure, there's the "In Progress" page, but have you looked at it? They mention things like bugfixes, rebalances, etc. Where's the gameplay improvements? Do you have a central place where you detail the planned neutral station defenses? What about the frigates? What you need is a web page where you detail everything you're putting serious consideration into, as well as arguments for and against that already have been raised. It'd make this forum much less redundant, at the very least.

It is IMHO far better for the devs to put their time into building the game, and not the website.

Of course, if they find some free time to give us more info/teasers/screenshots/etc I won't complain.... we're all addicts and we are all dying for any insight into the Vendetta future...

How much time do they spend sorting through and responding to all the redundant requests? Unless they have these big text files they copy the idea concepts out of (which defeats any purpose of not keeping a central database of proposed features), it takes quite a while to write each spiel. If there was a central reference, a) there would be far fewer redundant requests and b) the remaining redundant requests can be sorted out with a quick note pointing at the proposed new "In Progress" page (herein referred to as the "idea repository"), instead of running out a spiel about feature X from the back of your brain. Both maintaining the idea repository and writing quick notes pointing to it take very little time, much less than writing the aforementioned spiel.

I'd like to think they don't spend much time responding to the redundant requests at all. They have six or seven vets that can slap down the n00bs, and all they have to do is step in we start being too mean. ;)

One of the best ways too find out what the feature set looks like is step back into the archives and start reading from the beginning. Also read the vendetta home pages where the devs discuss the future of the product. If that sounds like it might be a waste of your time, then I suggest it is a bigger waste of the devs time to respond to every new persons demands for more information.

On the "In Progress" section:

Devs, I appreciate what you've done, and how good these releases are, and how quick they come out. But we'd gladly suffer the 5 minute delay if you'd update the In Progress section when you release a new version. ie, you release 3.2.3, you update In Progress to refer to 3.2.4. Thanks. :)
