Can I say SWEET?

I'm not so sure about the color though... though I gotta admit, that green would kick ass at the Verasi I4 station.

green because it's said to be the result of industrialisation, mainly of xith, wich is green.

i suppose they can change the color at will.

what i still wonder is if there's a vaporous movement or just like a flat texture?

eg: thick fog!

Vaporous movement is something we would like. Right now we're dealing with some mathematical problems that cause it to look kind of stupid under certain circumstances. It's pretty neat looking, except for when the blended sprites suddenly decide to flip 180 degrees. You do fly "through" the sprites though, so it does give the impression of surrounding density variations. But, anyway, it still needs work, from both a coding and artistic standpoint. And there's also been some driver-specific holdups, mostly on the Mac.

How cool it looks, in the end, will come down with how good the sprites look, how they're arranged, and how they move. If we can get that to all look decent, I'll be very happy for now. In the long run, it'd be cool to have some sort of energy bolts arcing between objects, and perhaps special "trails" left by the passage of ship engines (with trail thickness dependent on throttle, thicker for turbo and non-existent for coasting), which actually hangs around for a few minutes.

trails sound way cool... fog and cavitation would look awesome on a good graphics set.
