Navigation System
Idea:
Wormholes would be indicated by sets of three coordinate numbers (displayshippos, minus heading figures) and you could set up HUD beacons in your nav computer to appear at those coordinates. Since it didn't rely on the radar system, these would be visible at any range. Naturally, you'd have the basic set, and could purchase more sets of coordinates (maps) at stations as the universe expanded. Exploring, mapping sectors and trading coordinate sets could be an industry!
Dude! That could add a whole element of cyberpunkishness to this game! Hell, if there's one thing Vendetta needs, it's something to set the game apart from every other space shooter, and IMO, making it Massively Multiplayer isn't gonna do it. What about adding cyberpunk depth to the universe?

actually...you just gave me an idea. Next time I find the 17 and 18 wormholes i'm gonna jot down the coordinates on a piece of paper. Screw the nav computer. =P
Heh, if there was any way to find those coordinates in a reasonable fashion without a beacon, I'd do so.
i've never tried it before, but it can't be that hard....i think
Taken from the info section on the Vendetta MMORPG:
"Exploration of the universe will be possible, the use of probes allowing characters to scan systems for the presence of unknown Wormhole Areas. Discovery of a new Wormhole Area could open up whole new systems, or yield a lucrative new trade route to established systems. The Universe will be very, very, very large, but exploration will not be for the faint of heart."

Excuse me while I send a big :D to the devs.

/me sets up his nmap and ssh-nuke to steal everyone's maps.
Maybe people that have explored a lot could sell the data to others for a price, makeing explioring porfitable, and exploring should be hard.
With sectors that can be theoretically 100km across, exploring to find the wormholes, then perhaps selling them to Space Cartography, Inc.
First, you find a sector, and tap a control button to record the coordinates. You head back to a spacedock, submit the coordinates, it checks the authenticity, and dispenses the reward if there's something there. This would be made a recurring profession if certain 'unstable' wormholes moved on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.

why sell them to the station charge players who don't know how to get there a fee for being a guide, that makes it profitable and recurring without moving wormholes

There should be 2 types of navigation aid. The first would be that all wormholes explored by your nation appear as regular WHs on your radar. Plus, you should also be able to bring up a map while playing of the entire web of sectors that you have so far explored.
They could have like a Napster of Wormholes o_0
/me hordes his precious wormholes
