Behemoth Variants

I know that the XC was just recently added, but I still think there is more that we should be able to do with the 'Moth'.

I was thinking of adding a new "Behemoth MkII".

These would be the stats:

Behemoth MkII
Variant : Fast Cargo Transport
Level : -/-/-/10/4
Armor : 10000
Cargo : 110cu
Weapons : None
Mass : 30000 kg
Length : 34 m
Thrust : 700 N
Max Speed : 65 m/s
Spin Torque : 19.0 Nm
Turbo Speed : 175 m/s
Turbo Energy : 52/sec

Thanks lecter. How about a reason? I'd appreciate it...

You only lose 10cu of cargo and 2 e/s of drain, but you gain 150N of thrust, 15m/s of turbo speed. Perhaps if it were 80cu...

How about an XC2 which has all the same stats as an XC except more cargo space, it would hold more but handle like a yacht with an outboard :)

@rogue:
Yea, I guess that would be alright. It would have to be for the reason that the engines occupied that much more space in cargo and weapons ports.

@csgno1:
I think the XC already does that pretty well. If there is any non-capship that is ever going to break the record in terms of max c.u., it should be the Tunguska Marauder (in full train status). The other thread titled, "Making Marauder and TD fill their roles," discusses this.

In the meantime, I think we went heavy enough with the Behemoth, we should now go for More N/kg ratio.

to jim, why would you ever want another kind of behemoth? dont we have like pretty much all we are ever going to get?
Mar 29, 2007 Jim Kirk link
No. That's exactly my point "killerk". The Moth is a great trader ship, and as such, I think it deserves to have a few mmore variants. I know not everyone agrees with me on this issue (mostly pirates, simply because it'll be harder for them to catch this behemoth) but it makes sense that a ship with no L-ports or armor, and more turbo drain should be allowed to have a lot more thrust.

Problem is the moth already made most trade ships obsolete. Yours would also make it the perfect mining ship for bot sectors again. Just when the mineral maud closed the gap a bit.

erm, yea only one problem(well with your statement), it doesn't have any ports...

"Killerk" looks like you can read...

Battle Moth
Variant : Decoy
Level : 9/9/9/3/3
Armor : 50000
Cargo : 4cu
Weapons : 3L
Mass : 20000 kg
Length : 34 m
Thrust : 700 N
Max Speed : 65 m/s
Spin Torque : 26.0 Nm
Turbo Speed : 150 m/s
Turbo Energy : 60/sec

When targeted will show as a Behemoth XC to others. Mouahahahaha!

That's actually a fun idea Zed!

I'd give it more than 4 cu though. It should still have like 50cu.

Other than that, it looks great.

No it's a stripped varient, only there to destroy them pie-rats, so It shouldn't have any cargo
Mar 29, 2007 Jim Kirk link
Well, I was just saying that because there is a lot of space in that big ship, not being used for anything. So I thought there would still be plenty of room for cargo.

oups ...sorry, missed that.

Meh .. I still don't really like it. If you want a fast ship get a damn centaur.

Thanks Mynt. I thought you might actually join my side on this one... lol.

Okay, okay fine...

It would be very interesting if you could a purchased a reworked pirate design modified as a heavy weapons platform.

About as bulky as an XC, with more armour than the original, and sporting an additional large port. They *might* be useful against large capital ships, assuming cover is available. They'd be able to take about 6 or 7 hits before buckling, but could easily get off a spray of swarms in half that time, dealing a hefty 11700 damage in 6 seconds. Getting away might be difficult though.

Well, thank you, that's the spirit.

The behemoth is already a fun ship with just one variant, imagine if there were more interesting ones.
