Another repetitive complaint from Ehr!

Okay. Don't get me wrong, I like road trips. But flying ALL FLEEPING OVER THE GALAXY AM NOT PHUN! I base myself in Deneb, right? So going to the nation war zone is one heckuva trip. Here's my proposition. There are two things in my head right now (Neither, sadly, is my brain):
a) A Sol2-Edras wormhole, and an Itan-Sedina wormhole. These allow people with limited time (read: me) to actually get things done. This also encourages more vigilance on grey borders, to defend from heavy assault. YAY for easier travel.
b) Some for of equipment allowing jumps from Itan to Latos and from Sol II to Edras. This would most likely be quite expensive and a Large-Ports equip. Maybe even a One large one small equip, to limit it to larger ships and Hogs.

While I know this may seem cheap, this is just an idea. Any input is welcome.

We've, uh, seen this stuff before.

It's been said over and over again. And yes, it seems cheap.

It is cheap. I don't like it.

This would enable cheating with the race around the galaxy thing.....so I am against it

Noooo surprise here. I'm just sick of that damn long trip. My parents severely limit my time. Ah, well. *shoots idea through the head*

Create two alts. One in Deneb, one in Latos. Then you can just log out and log into where you want to be.
Apr 02, 2007 RaWolfe link
You need to understand that the idea will conflict a lot of things in game wise......no more racing? for sample

Racing is not an issue. But RP-wise this is lame.

Actually travelling itself is not such an issue as moving ships/equipment.

This is still do-able without breaking the dynamics of the game. Essentially, the proposed worm holes would effect racing, trading, prices etc. What about having to dock at the station and getting 'relocated' (maybe intergalactic transport beam - whatever) that would transport the player to another station. Minus ship. Just you. Then you could buy another ship at the destination. You cannot transport anything this way, but would make crossing to the other side of the universe less of a hassle. The 'rating' system would still have to be applied to prevent players 'jumping' to a station they wouldn't have been able to dock with traditionally.

>_>

Buy a ship when you get there when money means nothing in this game?

Precise .....the devs try to make an economic here .....if your to lazy to get to the other side of space....the don't play it

As it is, you can insta-warp by homing wherever you want, then going to the respective other end of the galaxy, and if you want to be back where you're homed, just /explode. It saves you 50% on the traveling time.

This will change once death will have a meaning, which might well be never.

I like jackscream's idea. I smell a potential money sink.

Look, I think the real problem isn't so much how long it takes. Its the stupid repetitive motion involved.

Just give us:

A) an autopilot (runs your ship at half max turbo from one location to another)

or

B) Ferries, You hop on board at one location and it transports you to another.

Neither one would break game mechanics, and you could set it up, then wait 15-20 minutes (away from your computer) and be at your destination.

I agree with the poster, this is a major issue.
Apr 04, 2007 toshiro link
That I would agree with, but the post was propagating instantaneous travel, which I do not agree with.

TPG (or other faction) constellation ship that circles the galaxy. When you enter it asks you which system/sector you want to be ejected at. Slow but steady. But the cap ship is not invulnerable so there would be some risk. Maybe two of them, one going clockwise and the other counter clockwise. Does not transport you through space that hates you, would eject a serco-hated itani after it jumps from ukari a-10 to intrios in order to save itself from SF. We could /msg it to ask it's current location. Fee based on number of systems traversed.

This would give me time to use the bathroom occasionally...

Okay. My idea sucked. THAT one is very nice. I'd been pondering ferries, too, and not just the kind that talk to me at night.
I like the Ferry Constellation.Public transport was one thing I liked in WoW. Maybe we can get some here?

Think I mentioned this before... we need *Divinian transports*. :P

csgno1's suggestion is VERY good
