Seeing that there is no time devoted to the VO web site, especially in the area of character stats, how about creating some SOAP interfaces that allow us to retrieve character info from VO?

Some VO players are more than adept at coding ... I can see the possibility of a number of 3rd party apps popping up.

Info that may be queried can include:
- Current player licences and XP
- Location
- Inventory
- Price list of commodities in the station the player is currently in (blank if not in station)
- Other stats like badges, duel stats etc

All this through SSL for security.

Unfortunately, the web site doesn't have access to all of this info at this time. I've been wanting to add it, but am unsure if there'd be any way to exploit the info.

If you require that the person log in under the account that contains the character whose stats are being checked, that should help a bit.

why not? they can find all this out if they meet you in the same sector, anyway! (i don't mean the inventory, of course)
