Attitude adjustments

May 29, 2007 SilentWave link
This is a suggestions forum. Not an insult or otherwise besmirtch the name of other people forum.

If you post something, post it in a positive and helpful way. Do not write things like I can't believe you would say something like that or that's a stupid idea, you moron!. If personal integrity isn't good enough for you, here are some other tangible reasons why you should remain helpful and positive on these forums:

1. You appear intelligent and friendly, not an asshole.
2. People pay attention to what you say, instead of to your negative, off-putting attitude that overshadows anything intelligent you might say.
3. You don't risk having your post deleted from the forum.
4. You contribute something to the VO community, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
5. You make VO look great to potential subscribers.

Good thought SW with the new people coming to this forum to decide whether they want to play this game or not 10 people can say how good the community is but it only takes one person who says the wrong thing to mess it up. Realistically what is that person going to remember Good Job doing X! or You Stupid ***** noob! Just like in the real world your going to remember the negative. So yes SW I agree lets keep it positive.

Seems there's been a fair share of rivalries/trash talk going around. I can't say that I'm innocent either (my apologies to Touriaus for calling him something unkindly—was trying to PM you TT, but noobish butterfingers couldn't remember how to PM. Will do next time).

Though for all the namesake of "Vendetta" overall the community has usually been very supportive of newbies and its own longtime friends (as opposed to the horror stories that come out of games like EVE, for example).

But it would be nice to see a scaling back of recent confrontationalism. Forums seem to be enough evidence of that lately. But the BP last night (and hopefully this coming night) was a good example of rivalries flaming at full force, yet everyone seemed to have a great time and no major wounds were incurred (except in our Valks, Proms, and SVG's). I hope we can see more of this.

I think the key to keeping attitudes adjusted is to keep it off channel 100. Announcing your intentions to the universe is good for some things, but once it degrades into smacktalk it rarely gets anyone anywhere.
