Increase that charge of the Ultra Charge Batt to 52.

I agree with a lot of points in this thread. The UC battery is not interesting as it is now. I think it could only improve things to have it charge slightly faster, either 52 or 54.

And if it did make another ship or two infinite boost, i don't see a problem with that. It would still be a level playing field, and the fact that boost wears off instantly is imo the most anti-immersive aspect of flying in this game; infinite boost offsets that to some extent.

While we're at it, I think Nicads should be available on the market, but only for people who make *100* different alts and give themselves good mentor reviews.

It's not like the raptor will suddenly become uber because of it becoming an infiniboost ship, Kit. Hence my suggestion. It was not based on an assumption, I actually did the hopelessly trivial math required.

I got my UC legitimately. I was stuck with dial up for two weeks. Could barely do a thing but mine and chat. So guess what I did...

Actually, also Vulture MkI, Prom MkI and Prom MkII would become infiniboost at 54/s, besides the Raptor.

It was not an attempt to shoot down the idea. It was an attempt to bring more meat (meow!) to the table to decide if it was worth it or not.

Personally, I don't see a buff of UCs as drastically unbalanced. A battery^Wpower cell that recharges in less than five seconds would be, but not an UC 300/54.

And anyway, gaining the UC is just an exercise in applied patience and hotmail/gmail/yahoo mail account creation, nothing more, nothing less.

this would make the heavy batt even more redundant. right now you can fire slightly larger salvos with a heavy batt than with the ultra, which makes the heavy batt useful in some (rare) cases.

a faster charging ultra might close the gap... so boo!

then in that case make the heavy charge charge to 650

spuck,

Instead of keeping the UC as a non-alternative, why not buff the heavy power cell (POWER CELL, dammit!) as well? At this moment, it has a capacity of 550 eu at a charge rate of 45eu/s. This yields 12 2/9 s as charge time. Rounding it up to 12.25s, we could safely increase the charge rate to 49 eu/s and the capacity to 600, which would increase its usefulness for many things, but also increase the gap to the medium battery.

So? It's not like AGT fire is really dangerous to small ships if you're careful. You'll only die to it if you started the fight.

erks ..rail hornets and valks that can boost while doing 15K damage would be piratas friend.

Just forget this stupid idea about 54 recharge. 52 recharge should be ok

agreed increase the ultra charge to 52 immediately

One reason I suggested 52 is cos it wont unbalance anything, you will still require a heavy batt for quad rail set-ups and the likes, cos the cap isnt enough to fire 4 ad rails. So ehum, I dunno if the fact that some people "cheat" to get this item should even come into the argument, that like saying "BP was not available when I was a newb, so anyone who does it now is a cheat, and did not earn their own levels" ect.

Changing the recharge rate to 52 will radically imbalance the chasing aspect of this game. Consider running after a fleeing Ragnarok that manages to stay 600m ahead of you. Let's say you're in a Vult Mk III, a decent ship for catching up to things. Since you turbo 20m/s faster, it'd take about 25 seconds to get into a good firing range. Since you drain turbo at a rate of 55/sec, that's 75 energy wasted as opposed to 125. 50 energy may not sound like alot, but against an armoured ship like a Spam Rag, it does make a difference, especially in a PC that only holds 300.

Just trying to put a perspective on the balance anyways.
