It's been suggested before (sort of) as a "repulsor beam"... the opposite of a tractor beam.

That's a fairly original use for it though. It would be the Vendetta version of JKII's "Force Push" :-)

Q: would/could the mass of the object also affect how well this works?

I would like it more if it was like the Repulsor in Homeworld Cataclysim. Essentially, that's a sphere that comes out from your ship in all directions and pushes stuff back. This would be a 1337 weapon against vultures near roids. Just run up to them and turn it on and BOOM.

thats what I was thinking it was, just a oviod sphere emenating from your ship, pushing things back

And mass should have something to do with it, i.e. the bigger you are, the harder you need to be pushed

Name it Graviton Wave and it would be acceptible. I just think that's a cooler name. Slappyknappy referenced Force Push from JK (1/2)...Force Wave is too similar.

beside graviton wave sounds too similar to graviton blaster :P

Then make it that cool purple and it'll work. :)

Repulsor Wave

Graviton wave? But haven't gravitons been proven to cause massive damage to ship hulls as in the "graviton blaster"? ;)

If you got an army of ships, you could push the frigate. I like that idea.
Good weapon. It would absolutely ruin station miners, nukers, and rocket rammers.
