We're looking at Latos I-8 for the first test. Further debate and feedback on the subject are welcome.
To be honest I am not sure I see any attraction to the site. While it might serve as a good base for trading it is 2 jumps for pvp.

I like the site for tactical reasons related to the conquering process.
The station is guarded by an array of turrets, which I think must be destroyed in order to achieve take-over. Certain factors will strongly effect how hard and interesting it will be to take out these defenses. Roids can be used as shields from the turrets (especially homing missile turrets), so that you can get within range to pop them.
That being said, Im sure we can find similar field characteristics in each system. It may help to have our first selection of stations cover the range of roid field densities and perhaps include one in a dense fog sector. (but not Deneb! As Sally Fields said it, "Not without my Daughter"!)
Who knows, maybe this Latos station will be too easy to conquer, and roid free stations will become the status quo.

It looks like a good place for a first test. It's central and there are decent stations in the system at which you can equip.
I think that there should be conquerable stations in key PVP WH sectors precisely because they are strategic and thus worth the effort to own.

Jimreaper I think you mean Border Battles, Nation Wars is on the other side of the known universe lol. But yes, and I think that the conquerable station in Deneb should have a little something more to do with the number of controlled sectors.
