the [sunflare/fighter/bomber] fix

On the subject of bombers, ARE YOU INSANE?!?! A prom at the moment is a good ship. So is the wraith. The ragnarok is VERY difficult to take down if its packing a homer loadout.

Sure, Im all for giving the prom an extra L port, but giving the ragnarok and wraith an extra one would be too much. I think its more of an either/or rather than both hull and weapons.

uncle a rag is easy to take out in any agile ship. As is the centaur. Just use a gauss and do turn around them, and any homer that you send will get evaded. Homers arent worth a thing. you can easilly avoid them.

I tried it on stingrays, and on the small port ones. Just stay moving and keep yourselve pointed at the person, just keep dodging in different ways, the homers cant follow you. At the meanwhile shoot your gausses.

For big ships, gausses are hard to evade. And a double gauss can pack a mean punch in a very short time. As can a tach if you are a good aimer.

That was mainly the reason why I considered of putting in a second large slot.

And if you made the advanced gatling, not needing 1 large slot, but 2. Then your problem will be solved entirely :D

Ow and ramming is pretty much out of the question to because the heavy ships are the slowest / sluggest. And if a vult or a valk or a cent wants to run, then it can easilly outrun it.

So in the end it is pretty much balanced, because the heavy ships have a nice hull and respectable firepower.

Besides. I always considered the rag as a bomber, and 3 large slots will make it possible to defend himself from valks and vults and so on and the giant hull was just considering it were heavys.

light = 6500 - 10000 "high agility"
heavy = 13000 - 20000 "low agility"

You see where im heading to ?

I'd just like to say that decreasing the promimity on sunflares will make it really difficult to hit from long range and actually _promote_ rocket ramming.

kuvagh, in a way you are right. But shooting them with a 5m prox is very hard. Just try ramming with a screamer. youll notice that it is very hard and every little change in direction can make a ram miss :D

So all in all, it will be a pretty valid fix that doesnt make it that difficult to implement :D

Euhm Sircamps.

For a perfect example of how difficult it is:

ever tried nuking a person from point blank? I know I tried it on a bot, and I can tell you it is very hard "tried it with that point blank no damage bug :D".

The reason for this is that every little movement to the side will let a rocket completely miss.

Besides like I proposed, if this still wouldnt work, then they could put in a fix that will make it so that a rocket shot at <100m will not be armed. But for a temporarrilly fix it seemed to me like a nice thought.

Besides my thought was more to let a small port rocket be a masters weapon. You need to have perfect aim to get it to hit a person. And I also implemented a slower RoF to counter the spamming of rockets. And if you wanted to have rockets that have more damage and a bigger prox range, then I suggest you strap on a warthog a jackhammer or a screamer.

My proposition of adding to the heavys some more hull and 1 large was just to really make it a heavy. Because if you take a close look, then a warthog can take out a rag with ease, same against a centaur. And almost everyone will use a warthog.

My thought about changing the advanced gatling to needing 2 slots was just so the warthog didnt have access anymore to it and so that the gatling cannon itself would be used, because players "without sufficient funds" prefer the gauss or tach to the gatling, the people with sufficient funds will take an advanced gatling. And with as result that the gatling itself wont be used at all.

At the same time, the prom/wraith, the rag and the centaur will still be able to mount the same infinite ammo set up.

Then the added hull to hte hornet was just to make it a little bit more worth its money because it is a darn big target. It is easier to hit then a rag but harder then a prom with a double gauss.

I have no problem with the Advanced Gatling. It's the only heavy slot energy weapon that's as good as a heavy slot energy weapon should be.

I think the only problem with the standard gatling is that it eats too much energy. I think if you mount a standard gatling (or even two) you should be able to blaze away for a very long time without running out of power.
