Race Track Improvements
1: We need/want more.
2: I think there should be a news notification when the lead changes, which includes whoever is now first, whoever was first, if anybody else was knocked down in places, what sector, the ship used, and the new high time. Also, it could include a notice if it was a new high overall time, how it compares to the old 1st place time... (others?)
3: The H-5 station should become conquerable or at least dockable, so racers can store ships there.

1: don't think we need more, but it would be nice if there was something to be gained by the ones we have.

Stats should be by weight class
Why not conquerable? And, ryan, you get 1mil c if you win a first place time and have it at the end of the month.
Yes, but cash in VO is fairly worthless (So much so that I tend to give it to newbs when I meet them.)
As for the issue of the station being made conquerable, it isn't so much a matter of why not as it is a matter of why?
Conquerable stations (though long anticipated) with the exception a free place to repair and reload are completely worthless. Maybe once a whole lot about stations has been sorted out. Presently it would be better to fix the issues that conquerable stations have before dumping even more worthless property into the game.

This isn't something I want to happen within a week or something. Sure, wait for things to get fixed and improved upon. It's an ideal location.
What happened to the system that FiReMaGe used to make racetracks out of Cerus stations in sector 7 back in the old days?
generally +1, but it shouldn't be conquerable. The station there should sell only ec 89s and 88s with free power cells, like the conq stations.
Thespian, why shouldn't it? And why not have it sell some ships, maybe cheap racers like the EC107, centurion mark 3's, and others?

Apart from Race Tracks (which are nice, but are short sprints)
we should bring back the Deneb Run race (which is more like the indy 500 or the Le Mans: a long distance / endurance event).
That would require some light nerfing of the red and blue turrets or seekers. At least for the duration of the Deneb Run. The nation defenses are currently too tough to allow Deneb Run.

what would the point of it being a conq. station be? what purpose would it serve? There are already three. it wouldn't have any manufacturing missions, and, turrets in a racing sector would just be.... weird....

1: -1 we already have enough, at least in Sedina. Maybe add a small one to each training sector, and another in only one capital of each nation.
2: -1 as short term. Also, it should be web-based, not game-based. Just think of RSS...
3: +1, make it be RACING-dedicated. Only sells basic ships and those geared at running and overpriced, and repairs. And unable to home there. And it should be unaligned.

No, it should not be web-based. We have an ingame news system for a reason and right now it's populated by trade routes and bounties.

Maybe add 1 racetrack at every major faction capital? To represent racetracks to newbs and hold race events in capitals. Though there is one problem: sector with race track should be unaligned.
