Valent Neutron Accelerator changes.
As of now the Neutron Accelerator is a worse weapon than the inexpensive neutron blaster and is extremely rare.
IMO it should be be buffed a tiny bit and sold at Valent station for a moderatly high price.

Dear Devs,
You guys *really* suck at designing rare/high-level weapons. Seriously, you're just awful at it. See, e.g., above joke of a gun; conc rails; biocom mines; and, Corvus Widowmaker attempts #1 and 2. The only thing you've ever gotten right in this arena is the Gauss Mk III.
Please either step up your game, or, stop wasting incredibly valuable development time on things so grotesquely over-balanced that nobody in their right mind would bother acquiring them.

The idea with the valent neutron accelerator is that newbs get it from a mission way before they can ever buy a neutron blaster mk1.
The problem there is that newbs get killed all the time so they might get a couple of shots with it then die, or put it up on a shelf to collect dust and never use it.

That is not true that every "special" weapon sucks or fails... Megaposis are great!
+1 to improve special weapons as VNA, AAP, CWM... They are not restricted ones, since anyone can take their missions. But it is frustating all that work for a WM and find out you only get one and it must be used alone...
The VNA is exactly between N2 and N3. It is N2.5... not bad, but deserves raising its grid and weight to deliver the fastest neutron punch as the "Accelerator" in its name suggests.

The valent neutron acceleration should be to the megaposi what the lawn enforcement blaster is to Neutron blaster mk2.
Essentially a bastard largeport weapon with the same AA as a megaposi but with the refire rate of a neutron and the speed/damage from a widowmaker, a bit less efficient too.
I don't really care what it gets made into I'd just like to see these extremely rare items have noticeable advantages over their not so rare counterparts that you can buy in the station.
Look at the queen gat turret for one its rarer than the popes jizz and the only thing it has over the normal gat is a tighter firing pattern and +20 damage, that's not enough to justify loading it out in ANY situation since its so freaking rare and doesn't perform noticeably better.

I really liked the sound of the gun, you know, until I got it. It disappointed me that the stats were just not worth it doing the mission for.
Perhaps drastically increase the stats (like mass and velocity), and then make it manufacturable?
But not like the widowmaker with a ridiculous 18 Grid! Give it like 7 Grid.

ARF is right, the idea behind the gun is that it's available to newbs long before they have access to regular neutron blasters. The fact that you can only get one (actually you can get 2 per character currently, but the other mission is pretty obscure) makes it a little more special and introduces the concept that death does mean something if you are carrying rare equipment. Personally, I think the vna serves this purpose. The mission isn't what I would call long ass, most of the mining missions found at mining stations are closer to that. But, as the vna is getting all this attention all of a sudden and I wrote the mission(s) introducing it to the game server, here's my 2c if it does get tweaked:
Keep everything the same, but increase the velocity to 210

I have to agree with spidey, while i like Phaser's idea, by the time most people actually learn about this mission in the first place, they already have neuts, so the valent isnt really "special" to them.
