Set up daily server restarts
Devs, can please you set up daily server restarts, so we have always fresh convoys and other thingies? :}
Nooooooooo. Maybe weekly.
This would screw up the war convoys and border skirmishes really bad.

-1 for daily restarts.
weekly or bi-weekly would be okay.

How about fix the convoys and other thingies?

+1 to drazed. A restart kluge would create more problems.
-1 to daily restarts... that is a windows-users solution.
+1 to Drazed. A real FIX instead of dirty workarounds!

but a restart kluge is infinitely more likely to be seen in a time span measured in months, I have a feeling they need to do some pretty major repairs to the convoy system.
well, then hopefully this phone deal will allow the devs to get another helping hand, or at least not worry about feeding themselves to get to those major repairs that really need to happen.
Hi, the convoy thing is already in process. There are two fundamental issues, one being the number of convoys around (currently dropping off over time), and the other being certain convoy bots being left behind around the galaxy. Both are pretty high on the priority list.
The first is kind of a secondary side-effect of the convoy implementation being much more complex and intended for usage with a fully-demand driven economy, which isn't currently in place.
The second is purely a bug, which we're tracking down.
As a general rule, we prefer to fix things and not just restart stuff. Especially when we want to add more bot-based gameplay, which is dependent on functional bot-management mechanics.

While you're working with convoy logic, please add a "convoy assemble stage", in departing station, after the last convoy NPC have launched, execute the same Regroup/formation routine that happens after every jump. So you ensure convoys build up correctly before first jump.
Most of stray convoy members I see are due convoy launch. Some speed up ahead, others lag behind... now, convoy's only chance to regroup is 1st jump sector. Once one NPC jumps again they spread over, depending on ship's speed.
I'd investigate those convoys spread over. Maybe their AI thread ends while some bots are still trapped in ion sectors or in-jumps....
just wondering on logic...

No to the op. In the long term getting things fixed is the best way forward imho. Short term, the devs have responded positively to experienced players asking for a restart since too much was stuck.
I still think that some stations have a problem with the jump point being the opposite side of the station from the exit bay, though I should get some stronger data before being sure about that . If anyone has confirmation , it would be useful.

yea, i see the moths try to leave the station and fly to the exit point on the opposite side of the station, resulting in them humping the station, sometimes badly damaging themselfs in the process.
that...that's some horribly broken AI.
