New Capital-Class Weapons & Buffs

May 13, 2015 Kierky link
They are Capital-class after all.

Capital Swarms
+ Increase Damage to 980
+ Increase Splash Radius to 50m

Capital Gauss
_ Leave it as it is, it's already powerful.

Gemini Homing Missile Turret
+ Increase Velocity to 95 m/s

+ Capital Inferno Flare Turret (slower than a Sunflare but heavier hitting)
Damage: 1800
Velocity: 65m/s
Volley: 2
Delay: 1.2s
Ammo: 20
Detonation: Proximity (30m)
Splash: 65m
Grid: 21
Mass: 2500kg

+ Capital Rail Turret Accelerator
Damage: 3000
Initial Velocity: 290m/s
Maximum Velocity: 500m/s
Ammo: 40

I should note that it takes 5 seconds to reach maximum velocity (A charge weapon)

-1 Items like the Rail Turret and the Flare Turret could be used to defend a moth or atlas. No need to make them for capitol ships only.

Edited to add... I'd expect the regular turret to be a flare turret and the capitol version to be a jackhammer turret, btw.

Well it fires two shots at once, it'll be harder hitting.

-1 to re-purposing light/heavy weapons for tridents. Make a new class of trident weapons. Rockets and rails? Yer not even trying.

+1

Re-purposing existing weapons with new stats is the only option for weapons suggestions, 'ore. Is this your first time visiting the forums?

Only option, greenie? You should try taking some lsd to widen your thinking.

This thread is yet another example of vets selfishly only thinking of themselves, caring none for the newcomers. Inc has said that they're about to release epic things for tridents, and not even that is enough? Why haven't there been any suggestions that would help improve the experience for them? Trident weapons are totally worthless to newcomers, at least for years til they finally build a trident.

-1 to suggested buffs.

If capital swarms need a buff, just put them back at 8 missiles like the normal swarms.

The Trident's turret inadequacies stem from one big problem, and beefing up the weapons won't fix that.

Inc's said a lot of things over the years, and no, just saying epic things isn't enough.

Try and think outside the litter box Greenwall, you pea-brain.

As someone who would like more success in a moth, I'd like to try a jackhammer turret in the rear turret. :)

As a forum veteran, I will impart some wisdom to Dirty 'oRe and failure:

The only weapons suggestions that have EVER been implemented have been based on existing weapons. The only "new" weapon type that has come into the game (since I've been playing, at least) has been the drain weapons and as far as I know it wasn't based on a user suggestion, and even those are visually identical to the ravens and/or prox mines. Thus it stands to reason that for any weapons suggestion to be feasible and have any hope of being realized, it must be based on an existing weapon.

Chiding Kierky for making a weapons suggestion that is in line with the above statement shows you are nothing more than mere trolls and disingenuous critics.

+ 1 I will support any idea to put new stuff in this game
Bcs this game is starting to be boring and we need new things in it

-1 to the last two suggestions

Non-guided weaponry is never used by Trident Captains for a reason. If the Turret placement were different, then this could be considered.

+1 to buffing the velocity of Geminis. They're way too slow.

-1 to the swarm buff

Instead move it up to 8 rockets as suggested in one of the posts.
May 14, 2015 abortretryfail link
The velocity of Geminis isn't their main problem. The fact that a moving ship can be completely outside of their splash radius by the time their explosion hits is a way bigger limitation. That's why I don't use them at all anymore on a Trident at least. Above 120m/s their damage is negligible at best.

Non-guided weaponry is never used by Trident Captains for a reason.

Never is a bit of a stretch here, don't you think?

Just because it didn't happen in the past, doesn't mean it will never happen in the future. There is always a first time for everything and everyone, my dear greenie. Is that so hard to digest for your tunnel-visioned, smaller-than-average brain? Calling me a troll is a cute attempt at discrediting my authentic concern for newbies, which you apparently have none for.

Inc's said a lot of things over the years, and no, just saying epic things isn't enough.

Do you have any idea how ungrateful and excessively self-absorbed you're sounding in that statement?

I am deeply disappointed that vets would seriously consider ways to make their tridents even more OP leaving newbs behind in the dust, instead of looking for ways to improve newbs' experience.
May 14, 2015 greenwall link
failure -- if you are such a huge newbie advocate, where's your grand suggestion on how to help them? Spitting in everyone's threads with insults you can't substantiate make you look like a troll. If you want to appear as a non-troll, start acting like one.

Just because it didn't happen in the past, doesn't mean it will never happen in the future.

It means it's highly unlikely it will not happen in the future -- taking into account the development assets GS has now compared it's formative years. Don't get me wrong, I think it's fine to "dream" about cool possibilities for VO.
