have you looked at the code for dullbot?
if you removed all lua access to +shoot#, and strafe, etc... would dullbot stop working in any way, or suffer any limitation it doesn't already suffer?
The only thing limiting lua will do, is move the code from lua, to some external language (which might still be lua, just external to vo).
I do not like limiting capabilities to the technically elite.

Oh no, dullbot has been re-written many times. I meant the original one that took screenies and headed towards the nav points.

Also, if some people are the type of person that they are prepared to sit down and write scripts and stuff to redirect whatever shit you want to /udev/input0 or whatever, then you are going to do it without Lua. The fact people can kind of keeps kicking up a stink on the forums from time to time, also it does make the game look a little bad to newbs. Not everyone who tries VO are going to be technically inclined enough to even unzip an archive. And I think a lot of people forget that.

I agree, Yoda, if those clients are running on the same machine. Multiple clients running on single devices is simply something you can't avoid.
Honestly I've been fine with people running multiple clients to do DIFFERENT things, such as IRC bots, spy bots, stores, casinos, etc. But when someone uses multiple accounts to engage in pvp combat simultaneously it does bother me, since it presents a HUGE advantage over a single-client user.
Westacular has employed such usage, using up to four accounts at a time, for probably at least a year, if not more. In fact, he may very well have been the pioneer of the tactic in this game, at least in regards to small-ship pvp. The only true answer to such tactics (actual human involvement and skill being equal) is to employ them oneself. This would naturally explain TGFT's alleged recent attempt at using the same tactic, given that Westacular has more or less single-handedly held the stations for SKV in this manner for months.

No gameplay problems? I think 1 person using 4 clients to attack something IS a problem, and just as bad as tarrenty and his supposed dodge assist. That's just my opinion of course.

I write a lot more plugins than Niki does. He still kicks my ass at flying internet space ships.
I have written a total amount of 0 (zero) plugins, however I have had draugath write me a toggle-able plugin that removes all chat lines containing "gf"!

Newsflash. You don't need to write LUA to use your buddy's code.
You can weed out the pretenders from real programmers by the way they spell Lua.
