Allow F2P/Lite players to buy high tier ships

Aug 22, 2015 RoboticMechanicalJeb link
The title says it all.

BUT

They NEED to be bought at an INSANE AMOUNT of Crystals (like, 2mil to buy an X-1 with all liscenses capped at 4)

Note: I expect a LOT of -1s. Don't disappoint me.

Note #2: Stop saying that I should get a Sub.

Note #3: I can't afford a Sub because child labor is not common here.

Note #4: No, I can't get a Visa Card because our 7-11 Stores only sell Ballpoint Pens and Food

Note #5: Parents/Mother won't let their kids use Debit Card (Note #5.5: WE DON'T HAVE CREDITS CARDS)

Note #6: We have no lawns, no snow, and being a working student is only accepted if you're a Collegiate

Note #7: Google Playstore doesn't use Google Playcards (in my country anyways)

Note #8: STUDENTS CAN'T WORK HERE (unless you're in college. Which I am not in)

In short: Everything that you guys have and can do there in America/China/Australia/Britain. We can't do and don't have here in the Philippines.

So, we're looking at pushing the F2P levels eventually, and having a big curve in crystal costs for upper level items, which is basically what you're suggesting (but: no Tridents, no various-other stuff).

However, the silly question is, how would this actually help you? I mean, even with a reasonable time-vs-crystal tradeoff, and some reasonable persistent ability to "mine" crystal with a lot of effort/time.. at the quantities you're talking about, the ships would be just as out-of-reach as they are today?

It could actually end up costing more than a sub, really. Especially since crystal cost is per-ship and not a one-time expenditure ("oops, I ran into a really good pirate who blew up my million-crystal ship, now I'm back to grinding for another month").

"F2P" on this kind of stuff is kind of an illusion. It's a very profitable illusion, for (other) game companies, and one that I've had to.. get used to, whether I wanted to or not. But ultimately you'll still be at a financial disadvantage compared to those with more money, whether that's Subscribers or people just paying to buy huge amounts of crystal.

It will be up to you, incarnate. My personal opinion is that f2p is good as it is. It is immensely friendly of you guys to have a f2p-mode at all. Many other subscription based games don't go beyond a trial. (If you stuffed f2p with ads and earned some good extra cash, I would not oppose to more good stuff for f2pers, but this discussion probably has been had to an extend in your office.)

Now... Back to OP. I can't resist, you are just much too adorable Vladdy :P

Note 1: -1!!!
Note 2: Get a sub!
Note 3: Get a job.
Note 4: How 'bout you grab yourself a Visa card from your local 7-11...?
Note: 5: Yo man. Ever considered asking your mama and papa for the cash? (e.g. Debit Cards?)
Note 6: Get a job. Stop excusing.²
Note 7: Use some Google Playstore cards!!! (after you got yourself a job)
Note 8: Get a job. Stop excusing, you lazy child, you!³
