Lieutenants: and you cannot demote them as commander

I have as a CO demoted a lt in @X not later than last week, and that was not the first time i've done that in a guild, get your shit right greenie.

My 2c leave the guild system as it is.
All changes that you made under whiners pressure have only made the game less fun lately.

Get your shit right dude, there is no demote command:

Usage: /guild [action]
actions:
create "ACRONYM" "long name" - ACRONYM has to be between 2 and 4 characters and not contain brackets. The acronym will be prepended to all members' names and enclosed with brackets.
invite "character name" - invite someone to your guild. Only commanders and lieutenants can do this.
join "character name" - join a guild if someone invited you.
decline "character name" - decline an invitation to a guild.
expel "character name" - kick someone out of your guild. Only commanders and lieutenants can do this.
appoint "character name" - appoint someone as lieutenant of your guild. Only commanders can do this.
resign [commander|council|member|lieutenant] - resign from your position or leave the guild. Regular members can only use the 'member' option.
vote [commander|council|member|lieutenant] "character name" [yes|no] - vote someone in/out of office. Only council members can do this.
list - list all guild members who are currently online
motd "message" - set message of the day. Only commanders can do this.
deposit <amount> "reason" - Deposits credits into the guild bank.
withdraw <amount> "reason" - Withdraws credits from the guild bank.

So yeah, are you magic? You can resign, vote and expel but you cannot expel characters who hold an office position, so would you like to share your secret?

/guild vote "weird guy" lieutenant no

Only one vote from CO required.

Just tried that and it just lists available guild commands. You may note from the description, the /guild vote command is only available to council.

[edit]

AHA! Success! It's /vote lieutenant "name" no, sorry for doubting you dude! That's pissed me off for years.

Maybe this should be added to the /guild command list... hidden features that are useful is stupid.

Well if the guides were not granted the permissions to modify guild rosters you would have found it sooner :p

PS: Btw removing guild member position modification rights from Guides would be the only modification i would +1 in dis thread :p

lol Spores, they're Guides for a reason. But they shouldn't be doing stuff that we can reasonably be expected to do from in-game.

Some changes I'd like to see are

-Allow four lts per guild (guilds will be able to recruit more due to more lts being available)

- Give Lts the ability to vote on council

-Create a guild vote table where you can recount what exactly is being voted on, who has voted already.

- Notification system for people who haven't voted yet. Make a reminder pop up every 20 minutes or so.

- Extend the amount of time to vote by a day or two. People have lives outside this game and cannot always be online in the short window to vote.

If you can make the /guild vote function better then Whistler shouldn't have to update things all the time. The functions are all there it just needs some tweaks to make it work better and more worthwhile.

1. Give the guild a way to choose between council vote or top-down leadership.

2. Allow Commander to set the number of LT spots in the guild interface.

3. Give guild members a way to log a message to other guild members who may be offline. It should show up in the guild tab: Guild messages. Currently guilds deposit 1c into the bank with a note, which is just a crude hack.

4. Create a method for pilots to apply to a guild in-game, and give CO/LTs a way to see and decline/accept applicants.

5. Remove the guild chat restriction if someone is /vote muted.

+100 savet.

Also give the guild a way to write a block of text as a guild rules / current state of affairs, etc, accessible under the guild tab. Allow the commander to choose which roles can edit the block of text.

I agree with what Savet just said, these would be great changes.
Sep 20, 2015 greenwall link
/vote mute of course has nothing to do with guild structure and has no place in being considered here.

This thread is for suggestions Greenwall, not debate. Go back to the other thread for debate.

Stop trying to cross-promote an unrelated suggestion that I strongly disagree with and I won't have to insert myself.

That's nice, now let's get back on topic. Your ignorance has been tallied.

A feature that I would really like is as follows:

Allow the guild commander to add/edit the guild description, guild URL and guild image. Doing this via guide help really is not practical. Yes sure, this could be abused but it can right now even with guide moderation. For example, I could set my guild picture via a guide, but because this image is hosted by me, I could change it at a later date to midget porn. Same with the guild URL, the guide could add my seemingly innocent guild forum URL, and then once added, I could change it to forward to midget porn.

I know from a recent experience that the player base is pretty good at reporting bad guild names, so I'm sure they would report any bad images/links too. And like I said, there is nothing stopping me from changing images/links once posted.

[edit] For those who may be concerned about GS's public image, be aware that the guild page is only visible once you have an account and have logged in to the website.
---

Now I know that a commander actually can manage positions of office without needing guide/dev help, the only other thing I would add has already been mentioned. Once a player is promoted to office (while being paid of course) let them keep the title even if a sub lapses or becomes F2P/Lite.

Yoda your proposal might make sense if the devs could trust that every guild commander held themselves to the RoC. Obviously this is not the case.
