Really fast ships (that -probably- won`t destroy gameplay)

I'm not sure if the physics engine supports this, but what if we had a ship that has absurd speed and forward accelleration, but very low agility. By that I mean I can move forward really fast, it can move backwards or stop really fast, but strafing or going up and down makes it behave like a ragnarok. That way, you get the fast travel times without having to risk an uber agile ship dodging everything thrown at it. If the physics engine doesn't support it we may be able to make it only have 10m/s of speed in normal flight, but superspeed and lots of energy efficiency while in turbo. To prevent it from being able to dodge too well you could make its battery lose a lot of energy every time you stop turboing so that you can only change direction a few times (maybe give it an invisible damage less weapon that automatically fires when you stop?) Oh, and it should only be availible on the black market, have no weapons and health so low that it dies with one hit from a bus cannon.

That way you have a nice travel ship to get from place to place without having to worry about making it too uber. It would be like a civilian sports car. It isn't built for freight or combat. Just travel.

Basicly just the ships I have said but just with that 10 m/s thingy added and low agility... would be nice :)

But I don`t think these should only be avaiable at the black market, because then these thing would became a bit too rare. The best should just be very, very expensive.

It's not a matter of rarity that makes me restrict them to the black market. I want to make people treasure their cars. If they have to fly to 18 every time they need to get one, they will be less likely to let themselves die continuously. There should also probably be a limit on the amount you can own. One, maybe two per player. These things should be treasured. People shouldn't be using them as cheap, disposable ships.

These `scout` really shouldn`t be THAT special... but the best of the best of these really should be rare and expensive.. that`s why they cost an arm and a leg.. even now. 10 mil cr. is a LOT of money. And I think after the reset, making anything cost 10 mil cr. ingame will make the owner treasure it and treat it as if it is `the ring`. Also I doubt that after the reset people would use the scouts as 'cheap' disposable ships... 10k cr. is a bit too much for something too be called that.

Well, that`s ofcourse one way to make them rare.. only those who put time in it can control it :)

the problem with uber high agility and low mass and compact design is that it would go out of control very, very often, unless the dev fixed something. that's 1 reason only the bots have furies, only they can control them

The real problem is that all of the ships you describe are in one of two categories:

1) Ships which have no attack capabilities, but are more or less immune to attack from 'normal' ships.
2) Ships which are both more or less immune to attack from 'normal' ships and which are also capable of (quite easily in some cases) dispatching normal ships.

Essentially, you've separated all ships into two categories 'fast' and 'slow' and the two basically never interact, except when an uber 'fast' ship occasionally swoops by and destroys a slow ship for the heck of it. What you've basically done corressponds to giving creatures 'flying' in Magic the Gathering. 'Flying' creatures only interact with non-flying creatures when the flying creatures choose to interact, and then they only do so when they are advantaged. Flying works just fine for MtG, but it would work less well for Vendetta because here we aren't the 'players', we are (as it were) the 'cards'. Who wouldn't want to be a 'flying' creature?

I don't really think your suggestions would be fun for anyone involved. The people in slow ships would get angry, and the people in fast ships would enjoy easily destroying things for a while before becoming really bored.
