Multiply CtC Rewards by 1000

Yeah might as well make one of the few pvp encouraging activities bring in similar amounts of cash than hauling guns.

Better yet give us a duel betting/wagering system in Tunguska/Corvus stations for local duels. that would be fuckin amazing.

CtC needs a few tweaks:

1) Reset of N3s - everyone gets a week of advance warning to sell whatever they have, then Devs pull any that are in the game. Every. Single. One.

2) Upgrade of N3s - they become worth fighting over, perhaps on par with a CWM with less grid, such that two could be equipped.

3) N3 rationing for CtC winners - if your nation wins AND you participated, you can buy 3 of them that week. Bots that currently equip N3s will not use them any longer.

4) Increased factional penalties for killing a CTC bot - it's -10 points now, which is ridiculous; make it -250 points for a transport and -50 points per escort bot. Yes, this will be a great way to repair standing if you've lost it somehow; no, I don't care. You kill a Serco CtC bot, it should HURT your Serco standing, even if that means yer Itani standing increases a lot. Ideally, though, it wouldn't be 1:1.

5) Competition for Purified Xith - anything that is as valuable as purified xith supposedly is can be sold on the black market to the right (wrong) people; Corvus in Odia M-14 only will pay 100,000 credits per cu. The only catch is that selling it there will result in KOS with both Serco and Itani. Time to introduce a third party into the game and up the competition for a scarce resource. Prevent cheating by automagically removing and selling any pure xith in a hold (tridents with docked ships that in turn hold pure xith present an interesting corner case...I say slap both dent pilot and docked pilot with the factional penalties, but send the credits to the pilot(s) in whose holds the xith was actually held) that docks with M-14 and apply appropriate factional consequences.

6) Prevent hoarding - I'm torn on this one, but if you can't stash pure xith in a station, I'm not sure it should be transportable by trident. If it is, and the trident logs/disconnects (as they are wont to do when facing destruction), no matter how it's held (in the trident hold or in a ship's hold that's docked), the xith needs to drop right there.

lecter why, n3's are a shit reward why not just change the reward and avoid all the extra mechanics required to do all those things.
Feb 16, 2016 Dr. Lecter link
If that's simpler, so be it. Might be easier to hard-delete the N3 itself and then re-add with new stats and restrictions.

As ever, the details of the how are best left for the Devs; anything in here is merely a proposal.

If you're suggesting a CtC reward that's something other than an S-port blaster, though...that's not something I've seen fleshed out.

Heh, time for some blast from the past . We did start whining about CTC way back in 2006-2007 so I made a relatively long post about it in 2007 proposing some easy changes that could make it become more popular as a regular VO content.
Suffice to say... Inc had no interest in addressing this in 2007 nor 2009 when I re-posted it and in 2015 when I reposted it again but, anyway, why not try posting one more time.

So this is "All that fuss about CTC" (I made some edits to my original post to allow for the changes that have been made from 2009-2016):

CTC BADGES

1. RAIDER BADGES
Rank I: 100 ctc transports shot down /gives you access to nation specific military grade weapon/
Rank II: 200 ctc transports shot down /gives you access to military grade powercell/
Rank III: 500 ctc transports shot down /gives you access to specially enhanced nation specific military ship/

2. NAVY SEAL BADGES
Rank I: 100cu ctc xit delivered /10% discount on all ships and equipment in nation space/
Rank II: 200 cu ctc xit delivered /20% discount on all ships and equipment in nation space/
Rank III: 500cu ctc xit delivered /POS status, 30% discount on all ships and equipment in nation space/

REWARDS

turbo thrust: 260 N
max speed: 70 m/s
spin torque: 7.5 Nm
turbo speed: 220 m/s
turbo energy: 55/s

Nation Specific Military hardware is non transferable.
Only respective badge holder can equip or buy them after winning the weekly ctc contest.

Note about military grade weapons: stats for both guns are the same, only difference is in the name and shots color.

Note about enhanced military ships:
I stayed away from valkyries and proms and tried to offer some small enhancements to IBG/SVG. Main difference to existing models, as you can see, is slight armor reduction to allow for more cargo space.
SVG is already the best light interceptor there is so I tried to balance things out for Raider variant with bigger cargo hold (+4), increased cruise speed (+5) and lower mass (-100kg) but slightly lower armor(-200) and slightly lower turbo speed (-5).
Similarly Itani raider got increase in cargo hold (+2), slight reduction in turbo energy (-3) at the cost of lower armor (-200).

... how the hell did this go from "increase rewards" to "fix every fucking thing about CTC and add new weapons and ships?"?

Feb 16, 2016 bojansplash link
Because just increasing rewards will not fix anything greenwall?

CtC needs a serious revamp. Half-assed solutions won't do any good so if we are proposing something let's at least try to make it right.
Feb 16, 2016 greenwall link
I agree the OP won't fix CTC, Bojan. My point is making suggestions inside of suggestions is wasted effort.

This is not gonna make ctc any more interesting or fix it.

We also don't need another variant of the IBG and SVG. What should be suggested is new ships. New ships for everyone. Once we have them, we can think about faction exclusive versions of those, or some stuff.

A complaint that's often raised is that the variety of ships is too small. It'd be cool if the devs hosted a contest or something that allowed the playerbase to design new ships, then it's voted upon and the ships are implemented. High priority, of course.
Our playerbase has many talented people among them and the developers should not hestitate to make use of that for free. I'm sure there's enough people willing to design some ships for free for this game.

There've been many great suggestions for new ship models (even with designs) in the past. Can't hurt to look at those again, either.

It was my impression from CtC forays that killing a serco CtC changed my serco by -10 but didnt increase my Itani by 10....ie it wasn't a balanced equation, or am I wrong?

+/- 250 etc would make this more interesting

There's a sticky in the General Forum for that.

If you want to keep CTC around for a while, in addition to increasing the rewards as suggested I'd also increase the weight of Purified Xith.

+1 to increase CtC rewards. Credits especially, the standing boost is already pretty good.
-1 to OP's suggested amounts since he's clearly asking for something exploitable.

...and then we will play it again.

Here's a novel thought: why not limit the purchase of Proms and Valkyries (or at least the advanced variants) based on who won CtC that week?

Everyone will stockpile and it will mean nothing.
