Local Dots instead of National Dots

Instead of reflecting the other ship's standing with your native faction, make the radar dots reflect the other ship's standing with the local faction. And add more colors. It would work like this:

White for group members, Cyan for Duelists (no change)
Dark green for Guild members
Green for POS and Admired
Yellow-green for Respected (more on the yellow side than the green side)
Yellow for Neutral
Yellow-orange for Disliked
Red for Hated and KOS, as well as anybody who damaged you in this sector

In unmonitored regions, either it could fall back on national standings, or it could just give everybody a yellow-orange dot.

This would make it much easier to determine at a glance who is and is not acceptable to shoot at (particularly for mobile newbs), which I think is much more important information than identifying who has good or bad standing with your native faction.

Obviously there are ways to load even more data into radar dots, such as with multi-color dots or different shapes, but those are ideas for other threads.

+1 That seems a much more logical solution although I think there should be stronger color differences just to make the dots easier to read for the mobile peeps who are probably looking at super tiny dots

Good idea Rin ;) Also, as you leave an NFZ, your status should change.

Generally +1, but although the dot size is different I would be concerned about discriminating players from weps such as rockets or mines which show as yellow or blue. Perhaps make weps flash ?

I would support the idea of having a look at how data is displayed on radar, Rins suggestions are a good starting point.

+1, though the issue of missiles and such do raise an interesting point. how about we change the shape of non-players, too?
