EULA

Can I just agree with the EULA (end user licensing agreement) once and for all time! Really annoying to have to accept every time I start the game.

Oh no, a whole fraction of a second for that extra step!

Incarnate has said many times that this is the way it's going to be for the foreseeable future, as it is the simplest way to ensure that the EULA is acknowledged. Most of us barely notice it anymore.

There is a plugin to auto accept the EULA, but then if there is any changes to it, you might miss them and sign away your life!

No, but seriously, its 1 click. Not so bad, its not like you have to read it every time.

Actually, the plugin tracks the sha1sum of the EULA and only auto-accepts it if it hasn't changed. Which is the sort of behavior the game should have by default.

As for the stock behavior, the problem with having to acknowledge it every goddamn time is that, like Whistler said, people stop noticing it... which means they're unlikely to notice changes unless they force themselves to double-check the last-changed date before hitting Accept.

Inc has stated that he will make any change abundantly clear, but I agree with you.

If it did not prompt every login, one could argue that two people sharing an installation and account could create a situation where one can play the game that another person accepted the EULA, resulting in a player legitimately not needing to agree to it. I would guess that is why the game doesn't have this behavior.

Sharing accounts is against the EULA tho!

From section 1: You may not transfer or share your Account with anyone, except that if you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one child to use the Account instead of you (in which case you may not use that Account).

So really if you read the EULA and then share the account you are in breach of the EULA and the EULA will get you, muhahaha

No, but seriously, if the plugin does auto prompt when the EULA changes, then my post above is a none-issue.

I'm not sure if you read the EULA properly innercitysrvvr, but as part of accepting the EULA you agreed that you would not complain about having to accept the EULA next time around.

You also agreed to recite the EULA in English, Spanish and Icelandic on national television in reverse, syllablistically before you logged into the game. Please provide evidence of your compliance with these terms or kindly log out of the game.
