I doubt that will ever happen..., but who knows, he might surprise me.

We can't really do releases right now, we're in Q/A "cert" with an external company. It's a pretty delicate process.

We're also still working like 15 hours a day, 7 days a week, as we have been for the last several months. So.. while I think it's unfortunate that it's been so quiet for you guys, you'll just have to wait until we can do a big flood of releases.

Off-topic, but how is that in any way sustainable?

Crunch time is a pretty common concept in the game industry. It isn't sustainable, long term, and it happens for different reasons at different companies (like the linked article is more about gun-for-hire contract shops working for publishers). But stuff can always go awry, and when you're independent you don't have any extra resources to lean on.. so.. one does what one can.

Anyway, people can choose to believe me.. or not. If we really had nothing at all to show for all this devtime, though, I would sure prefer to have had an extended vacation or something. Instead of trying to handle locking a release for Q/A while I'm juggling meetings and running around E3.

We do have a lot of changes, but I can't honestly say whether they're going to light all the vets and pc/mobile players up or not. Some of them are probably cool. It's just a bunch of stuff we had to do.

We long-term subscribers to Vendetta Online want to believe all the wonderful game enhancements you have planned for the game and community. Many of us feel you are failing to live up to your own promises. Some folks may be unable to express this disappointment without a direct personal attack, but the offerings behind their words are clear: we remain unconvinced.

No, I get that. I just.. don't have anything to tell you. It is what it is. There's basically no value in telling me you're skeptical.

People had asked me to post what was cooking with guild software, that was the actual thread name. So I did my best to do that. Now other people are skeptical, because I said we were doing stuff. Meh?

In a perfect world there would have been a periodic release process to demonstrate some of this. But doing periodic releases is very time consuming, and sometimes we don't have that available.

So, you can wait and be skeptical, or wait and be not-skeptical, or whatever. But you're going to be waiting for the moment.

Well, I for one am not unconvinced. Guild Software has built this game and kept it alive for rather a long time. They obviously know what they're doing, and they're good enough at doing it that I've spent just shy of 114 days logged in enjoying the game. What sorts of cool shit have the whiners with their fragile emotions and negativity accomplished, that I should believe their forecasts more than those of the people who have already proven themselves to be competent?

Keep on space-truckin', devs. I believe in you!

I agree. I am amazed at Guild's ability to re-prioritize when faced with setbacks or new opportunities. I don't feel deceived in any way.

I don't recall offhand how many hours I've logged in game, but I can tell you that my player number is 98.

I do get a little peeved from time to time, but I really shouldn't. This game has swallowed a lot more of my time that anything else I've ever played. When people tell me VO is dying, I just brush it off. The amount of times I have heard that over the years, well if guild had a dollar for every time, they'd be as big as EA by now.

I don't know what my original char ID was, but it was in the 1000's. I've logged more hours that even most bots! So yeah, I'm not convinced everything guild wants to do will happen, but there is one thing I'm sure of, VO is not going to disappear soon(tm).
