Luxen you may want to check the energy stats... the gun basically sucks most batteries dry in a single shot. The actual time to fire is dictated by your battery charge rate in this case.
Oh, your right! ...How much time does it take to fully recharge 400 energy?
"is there a way to count BH kills when bountied allready?"
It seems that way. My character tab has a section that tells me how many bounty hunters I have "escaped", which I assume is supposed to be the number I killed while I had a bounty on me. I've never paid any attention to it, though, so I don't know if it really works that way (or at all).

A fast charge is 50 per second so about 8 seconds....
Geez! this might end up not being used too much in dogfights then. If we add a swivel-mount, it could work slightly more in favor as a trident/goliath weapon (given they have uber-sized cells), but we (at least, i ) would want to also increase the weight of such a weapon... or a decrease in energy requirements, and a raise to reload time to force the gun to perform at near output; 200 e per shot, and a 4-5 second reload?
Or does 8 second reload times appeal to you guys?

lol i can see this happening, 2(or more) dog fighting dancing and they misses and wait another 8 secs would be long but cool. btw what color is the shots? green? like the flettecth cannon is yellowish orange(could be wrong been awhile seens i uses them) and gun that uses the word xith in the gun should be maybe green... idk just throwing ideas lol.
edit: if its 8 secs i don't see much people using it because of that but i could be wrong.

At point blank range it can destroy some ships in a single shot.
Weapons should always have a trade off to them.
That is part of what keeps the balance of the game.
In this case the tactic is to damage them badly enough in the first shot to force a pull back
or cause panic. Alternately you can peck at them from long range and then come close for the final blow. Remember this fires in an expanding cone so dodging will be very hard.
