Make more stations available for capship docking!

With player controlled capships being used more widely across the universe, it would make sense to have more capship docks. It would allow for capships to have more re-equipment options without having to fly to Latos or Odia all the time. It would allow for more large scaled trading operations. And it would make the universe look more "advanced".

I am not suggesting to turn every station into a large capship station like Odia M-14 or Latos M-7. I suggest giving all the small stations one capship docking port and one exit port. Only the capitols should have multiple capship docks.

Of course there needs to be a downside to this. So I suggest the following 3 ramifications:

- Make it impossible for non-capships to dock at capship docks. Small ships would have to use small docks.
- Make all capital class ships permanently persistent after a player has logged out. So if you want to park in space secretly, you can still do that. But your ship will remain there and will be attackable all the time. This seems reasonable if capship docking will be a universe wide thing.
- Require atleast 1000 units of energy in a Powercell to be able to dock capships. So if you are pinned down by an attacking squad and want to flee your Trident into the (then) widely available docks, they can stop you from docking by keeping you below 1000 energy.

+1 to a few more locations with capship docks. I would still rather see external docking of capships.
-1 to limiting docks to ship types. I can envision scenarios where smaller ships would utilize larger docking bays. I'm not going to lose any sleep over this one though if it changes.
+1 to capital ships having permanent persistence
-1 to requiring energy to dock.

+1 to most of this. I don't think that every station should have a capship dock, but they should be a little more prevalent. I also don't agree with restricting small ships from using large docks. I very much do agree with requiring energy to dock though, especially if docks become more common. Otherwise they make it too easy to magically remove yourself from a fight.

Dont like the additional points so much, but like the idea generally.

However, i think having every station able to dock capships is daft... One station per every other system, that would be adequate... for example, add maybe six more stations evenly spaced around the universe, maybe 1 capship dock per faction in uit space, and every other system in itani/serco space.

+1 to the external docking comment based on the idea, and how cool it would look. Maybe allowing you to trade cargo that way to the small stations, and only dock properly to big stations... but -1 to the same idea for the amount of changes and additional work to implement it. New station design, new mechanics, new interface all needed... not really warranted by an idea thzt only really adds cool. lots of cool tho hehe

-1 to energy for docking tho... capships are already to easily destroyed without adding another handicap.

+1 to all, and add a small timer to docking on top of it.

- The current goal is to expand capship docking capabilities to fully include all Capitol stations. That'll be the next-stage. Other stations may be added ad-hoc after that.

- The majority of stations will not have capship docking. But, we have something like 135 stations, so there can still be a lot added. Basically, there will always be value to fighter-scale trading in a Behemoth or Atlas, in much the same way that real shipping in the world is highly limited by size, and most ports cannot handle massive ships.

- At no point will there be permanent capship persistency. The last thing I need is a ton of empty sectors full of various "hidden" capships from people who haven't been online in a month. But, the length of persistency could be extended, if it's worthwhile.

- The energy-for-docking requirement seems kind of goofy and hacky. I'm clearly not above doing goofy gameplay hacks, but that doesn't make me a fan. Whatever problem this is trying to solve, I'm not convinced this is the best way to go about it. Nor is the problem actually a thing yet.

-1 to requiring energy to dock, or any other hindrance to docking. That's just opening a massive door for griefing

by the sounds of things though, there certainly does seem to be a need for more places capships can dock.
