Higher standing for nation ships

Jul 24, 2017 Dread.Pirate.Roberts link
SVG, IBG and WTD need to be raised to +601 to maintain nation exclusivity. These are nation ships and as such should be limited to their home nations. This issue came up in another suggestion and hence I am posting it as it's own.

Yes please.

It makes no sense from a role-play perspective that an enemy military would sell proprietary ships and weapons to individuals of another nation.

+1 from me too.

But then what benifet does someone have for raising their standing with major nations that arent their own?

No, the entire point of them is to be available to people who have shown loyalty to a nation that's not their own.

Alternative: These are military ships. Why not restrict them to military personnel? It leaves the UIT one available, sure, but for Serco and Itani requires actual dedication to their cause.

Requiring military enrollment for svg/ibg ships sounds good to me. +1.

I agree that would be a valid option I was hoping to make the change as easy as possible which just changing +600 to +601 does. Requiring the military option would most likely be a bigger code change.

Yeah, sounds great, except that there is not one ship in VO that is currently behind the military wall, and removing the IBG, WTD and SVG from general use makes any F2P or Lite player assed out for combat ships that can defeat X-1s and SCPs. I think that if anyone grinds rep with a non-native nation to +600 they should get the reward of a high-mid tier nation specific ship. How many Itanis have you seen in SVGs or Sercos in IBGs? Sure everyone gets WTDs eventually (unless they're pirating in nationspace) but it's still a significant amount of work to achieve. If you want a real world parallel, look at the Northrop F-5 Freedom fighter, which was an export fighter under the DOD program to arm US allies. This American made fighter was only operated by US forces in a training capacity, but was sold to many US allies across the world. It certainly wasn't our best fighter, but we sold it to the folks that we liked so we wouldn't have to save their asses all the time. In a similar way, the VO nations still reserve their top tier ships for nationals, but they have a different model that is almost as good for the people they deem close allies.

You are mistaken Ranger. It limits those ships to their home nation so Serco F2p can still get SVG, Itani F2P and still get IBG and UIT F2p can still get WTD. This in no way removes them form general use it only limits them to their home nation personal.

To answer your question I have seen several Itani ITAN nationalists no less flying SVGs, that to me does not conform to the nation exclusivity system. This will also give reasons to have alts in each nation to get those ships.
