Avalons anyone?

Maybe you wouldn't mind bringing them back... I'm sure some of you would hate it, but a extravagently large and sudden death is fun, no?

On one condition, there is a mandatory 5 second waiting period between firing weapons and docking, and you cannot dock if you have active missiles (floating avalon, or swarms chasing someone).

yes its good to do it now its cost a lot of money so it will stop exploters

5-Nuke Rag (3sport, 2lport)

If we had 7 valks we could to a 21 nuke salute!

5-nuke rag?

Barbeque... mmm.

Think about the tactics:

*avalon spamming, just bind each port to one button, and then just press the buttons quickly after each other
*avalon ramming, costly but effective...
*mega-avalon mine fields

Scary..

Too bad you can only launch them at 235m/s...

You people just ruined a very good thread.

I'll repost, I think avalons should be brought back in-game if:

- There is a 5 second waiting period between discharging ANY weapon and docking.
- Docking is denied if you have active missiles, rockets, or nukes floating or fly in the sector (applies to all mass-based weapons).

Sounds good to me, but devs seem to be hiding their thoughts on this matter. :(

They went because of "Instant Nuking" (remember, with Lmines)so if people didn't do that we would still have them :(

So, anyway bring them back! I agree with Camps, you shouldn't be able to dock with active missiles. That would save 50k a day :)

Go ahead and instant nuke my bus!! I'll get enough shots off (maybe rail) to ensure you issue and lose your ship (around 100k). Go ahead! Not even Blitz can keep such a scheme up that long.

The port positions can be slightly adjusted to prevent insta-nuking.

With the docking ports now seperate from the exit ports on the station, I say bring 'em back. Make them go up in price.

I'd also like to see a nuke mine, something very expensive.

Do you people realize how difficult it would be to instanuke and survive? You have to have full health when you set it off and pray that the target is in the optimal blast range. Especially with the economy the way it is, an insta-nuke is a risky move.

Could be fun tough if you just completed that solo flagcap or über-profitable trade route and just want to waste some money quickly... hmm, doubt that will happen very often yeah.

Make the launcher cost 250k-500k, and the torpedos 20k, then someone will think twice about risking such an expensive ship....
Jan 06, 2004 Sheean link
Uhh.. at that price (almost) nobody could even pay those things O_O

Just make them cost more like:
100k, and each torpedo 10k

bring them back ONLY if person cannot dock with avalon flying.
