hehe, fit one to a dent, and siphon off another dents docked ships... I assume this would need to be prevented.

It definitely should carry substantial faction penalties in monitored space, not a piddly 1/cu. And it should count as aggression as far as the self defense system goes, even if nothing is successfully stolen.

Even so, -1. If I can teleport cargo out of your ship, why can't I teleport bombs into your ship? Or teleport you out of your ship?

Because the target doesn't have a teleport receiver on board? Same as you can't "un-mine" ore from a roid? And as for teleporting people out? Well, said people would have to actually exist first... FREE YOUR MINDS!

People, CPU, powercell, guns, whatever. If I can teleport out their cargo, I can teleport out important things that would prevent them from preventing me from preventing them from continued existence. And if they can block me from teleporting their heart out of their chest and into my palm, then they can block me from taking their chocolates. So, it doesn't really make any sense.

As for ore and roids, well, we don't mine ore from roids. We magically produce ore in our cargo holds while heating up the roid without any long term effect on that roid, so the concept of putting ore back doesn't really have any meaning. If we could actually deplete a roid's supply of ore, then yeah, it would be neat to have a way to do the reverse. It could be militarized by depositing ore onto people's hulls to increase their mass while also boosting their armor slightly, and obviously mining beams should remove armor.

The difference between being okay with that and not being okay with teleportation is that the ore transfer process is presumably destructive and line-of-sight. I don't expect that mining beams would be a viable way to recover intact goods, but rather the raw materials that make up those goods. And I would think that it would work from the outside in, meaning I'd need to mine through their hull before I could start mining their cargo, by which point they should probably just explode since the game doesn't do localized damage. If it did do localized damage, then there wouldn't be a practical difference between mining through a cockpit and then brain, and blasting through their cockpit and brain.
