Super jump points

Purpose: to mitigate long distance Nation Space life wasting travel.

In each nation space capitol system and border system there is a mission that has a 25,000c cost to open a Super Jump point that goes to the Capitol system / Border system.

Example: Take a mission at Sol II h-13 that lets you jump to either Gera or Initors/Pyronis and conversely go from those border systems to the capitol system.

This would serve to not suck the life out of players who have no need to visit any of those in between systems and possibly increase Deneb activity. Going to Deneb form Initros/Pyronis would require jump to Sol II first then jump to Gera or Jallick to Itan then to Deneb.

a 25,000c cost

...what if it were this or 5% of your credits on hand, whichever is greater?

This could easily be exploited to quickly transport goods across multiple systems.

These should require a lot more credits to use, and the pilot needs to be in an EC-89 to be able to use these wormholes.

An alternate idea to this suggestion could be to place these "Super Wormholes" at each primary Capitol, i.e. Sol, Itan and Dau. Use of these would require a pilot to have crossed certain level of licenses, combat 6-7 maybe. In addition to this, two "Super Wormholes" could be placed in two key sectors in grey, Latos I-8 and Bractus M-14/ Pelatus C-12 requiring an access key for their usage. Incase you do not have an access key, the wormhole from nation space to grey would not work. These would also only lead to another Capitol system and vice-versa, granted you have neutral standings or above with that faction.

This should introduce a new level of gameplay and give conquerable stations meaning to people who do not engage in manufacturing.

@Nico yours is WAY WAY WAY more exploitable. As mine only cover nation space the exploit potential is very limited as having to stop and dock at a station to take the mission would prevent ppl from using it as fast escape, the number of ppl hauling cargo who are attacked in nation space is in fact pretty low so it would not adversely affect pirate RP.

@Phaserlight I could see the cost being based on standing level like with other purchases. so say 1,000,000 for some one who is dislike and scaling to say 100,000 for POS.

Not as a means of fast escape, but quickly carry millions of credits worth of goods in a short time and shorten trading time, or use it for bulk procurements. It will need a limit no matter what.
Apr 16, 2018 -Wash- link
That is precisely the purpose. Travel in nation space is time wasting life sucking monotany. As it only goes through nation space to and from border systems only the potential for abuse on bulk procurments is minimal and anyone moving millions of credits of goods is doing so in capships so no real danger is being avoided.

How about the cost of your ship, weapons, carried goods (based off the highest price in the system) in order to use one of these wormholes.

Other compromises: No cargo or weapons whatsoever (makes sense using a hyper wormhole, which would probably be a stretch using in any ship, much less one with cargo.)
UNLESS its a capship.

Perhaps it should be a capship only feature?

But whatever the case, it NEEDS to be implemented one way or another.

Perhaps lets make them go ACROSS deadspace...

This seems legit.

This is incorrect. You might not have the skill yourself, but two or three of skilled pirates teamed up can take down a capship in grayspace.

Don't detract from the pirate gameplay.

Joyless these are not in greyspace only nation space and fyi swa takes out capships with only 2 ppl

How about some new systems to use as shortcuts instead?

I agree with Joyless in part here. This would detract from pirate game-play.

Seems to me, the issue here is the boring monotony of nation space travel?
A better fix would be to make that travel interesting rather than eliminating it.

More NPC encounters for instance. Requests for aid, or to form an adhoc convoy, etc.

Actually its the excessive time suck on real life. And as one of the few people who do attack ships in nation space I quite frankly would rather have the shorter travel time.

Either this +1 or add more connecting systems

Since the exploit here would be providing a means to quickly move cargo, a simple fix is to not allow the player to use the super wormhole if they have any cargo.

Would be problematic for capships since the pilot couldn't bring any ships in cargo to launch from, so there would need to be stations added in Deneb with capdocks to compensate.

Using a mission for the implementation is a bit silly and contrived. It also precludes KoS players from using the super wormholes. I would drop the whole mission usage thing and then also not include the wormholes in the capital systems in order to not give KoS players a back-door to enter the capital systems. Just have the wormholes go from Jallik to Deneb and one of the Serco border systems to Deneb.

Could be interesting in that it would provide a means for KoS players to get to and pirate Deneb more easily.

The point of it being mission based is to prevent kos players from using it at all

Make it 2,000,000c.

Actually its the excessive time suck on real life.

If you forgot to home at a nearby station before going into battle and dying, that's on you. Space is supposed to be insanely vast and therefore takes time to traverse.

-1. It doesn't take unreasonably long to traverse nation space, and as Faille said, the experience should be made more interesting, not removed.
