Just curious why VO dont have trade menu and found this thread. I love how VO manage inventory by location base. This is reallistic. Understandable in common sense. But for trading I definitely dont get it. Me and seller all docked in the same station. We deal business in the bar ( VO has a bar) then why we have to launch out and jet the cargo in the space for trading? Why dont just make a trade at station's loading bay. Have the worker or bots or station service (station can charge little fee) deliver purchased cargos to buyer station loading bay?.

And if you both dont agree on the station fee you can jet cargo out in the space and take your own risk.

I mean its not make sense at all. Not talk about game mechanic to allow piracy on transfering. In real life no one jet valuable cargo out for trade.

"Realism" is not a meaningful argument, here. Keep in mind that most sci-fi portrayals of space stations (a-la Star Wars), with giant cargo bays, high ceilings and huge regions of empty space, are super unrealistic. Compare that to the International Space Station, where actual cargo is packed in like sardines. The reality is, docked ships would probably be pretty jammed together, space would be at a premium, and transfer of large objects might actually require un-docking, to transfer content in.. space.. where there's.. space.

The "realism" factor is not a motivator for me. That said, there's a lot of room for improvement in P2P trading, the current situation is pretty dumb; we just have to be careful not to screw things up, while we're making improvements.

Why not just nation player to player trade, or just non conq station. That forces mainly the manufactoring player to move it in XC or capital ship. No ship trades you got awkward latos n2 for that and still thats limited.

You should be able to just transfer whatever you like if you're in the same station by maybe paying a nominal porterage charge if it's a large volume.
